Post Pause Glitch!
I didn't see a previous thread about this, so I decided to point it out.

You know how if you press escape during a game it pauses it? Well, I think I know how it works. It pins the actors and lets emitters and everything else run free. I'm not sure if this is true, but it would explain this glitch I found.

If you pause the game while there is a dropship on the field, whenever you unpause it, the dropship goes soaring into the sky. This is because the particles that the engines are emitting, still emit even though you paused it.

Same thing happens with a jetpack. Hold down the jetpack button while pausing it. When you unpause it, the actor will either go flying, or sometimes explosively gib.

Try it. It's hard to explain with words.

Yep. You are correct. I have found out this glitch too.

While playing a team game with my friend, my friend left hist jetpack running while we went to eat.

When we came back and resumed the game, the actor was like: SPLAT!

I mentioned something like this a long time ago, except instead of pausing, it would happen when you slow the game down with 2, and rapidly press the jetpack key.

You'll notice, whether it's intended or not, that rapidly pressing the jetpack button even in normal time can overlap the sounds and emissions, making a sort of burst that sounds more powerful, uses more fuel, and is more powerful.

In earlier versions, the very start of the jetpack was more powerful than the rest, so tapping made your actor go faster, and faster, which was also useful for flying around. Then Data decided to remove/fix that, and now looking straight up with your actor increases the power of the jetpack, or atleast angles it down more so the power is used more efficiently.

Yeah, I noticed that also.

I dropped a nude bomb, and paused it as it hit, and then paused the game.

When I unpaused it after eating a meal, it was like 25 of the nukes exploded at once.

It was freaky.

I hope data either doesn't fix it, or fixes it but gives you the option to turn it on and off.

Guys, all you have to do to make it work fine, is put it in windowed mode, then click off the screen, all the sounds are still going, but everything else stops in it's tracks. : D

Pause it while firing the AK-47, when you unpause it, it's like a shotgun blast with AK bullets.
