Post A manual.
Like, a legitimate manual. Not the FAQ.

There are so many points to this game not covered by the FAQ. I downloaded this game and spent 20 minutes after reading the FAQ trying to figure out what needs to be done. We need a comprehensive, all-inclusive manual for what does what and how to do things.

Here's my proposition: MediaWiki. You know, Wikipedia? Except one for users to use and edit relevant to DataRealms.

I have space where we can host one, temporarily, if storage capacity and bandwidth allotment are issues for this program. I'd also be happy to help sysop said Cortex Wiki.

Thoughts?

We had a wiki a few months ago, but nobody really cared. And seriously, all it is is just defend the brain. The readme file has what the buttons do. Doesn't seem like it needs anything else.

I suggested a mediawiki before but I think wizardj replied and just said he'd mention it to data.

A wiki you say?

I think some of this can be applied to clone management.

It'd be hella useful for modding. What are you talking about? Anyway, I think I'm gonna start one anyway, an unofficial one, and I'll post the link for you all.

We have 3-6 topics telling people how to mod...

I really ought to update me Guidelines and Guide thread some day.

The sticky I wrote in the mod making forum should cover pretty much everything I can think of about modding that would be in a manual... if it's missing anything, then we'd might as well edit that post rather than have another sticky.

As someone who's tried to start modding and utterly failed (besides editing ini files), those three to six stickies aren't really cutting it, I don't think. But OK.
