 2 small things about B22 (suggestion+minor glitch fix)

Post 2 small things about B22 (suggestion+minor glitch fix)
I started this game just today, and i noticed two little things, easily fixable (if judged interesting)

1st, really not a big deal, some weapons from Coalition appear in another group (Main seems to be "Coalition Weapons", second is "CoalitionWeapons").
It concerns Cannons and Flamers from this category. No big deal, only changing "CoalitionWeapons" to "Coalition Weapons" in all ini files from Cannon and Flamer folders (on "AddToGroup" lines), and all these weapons will be sorted correctly.

2nd, it's more a suggestion, about behavior of the "escape" key. When in game, this key brings the pause menu, ok, like in most games. Problem, in my opinion, is that in most games, pressing "escape" again will simply bring you back to the game, but in CC, it exits the game, without a warning, which can be quite annoying, especially for a new player (for example trying the demo).
So, "escape" as a shortcut to exit game, ok, it can be, it makes things faster, especially to develop and mod, but I think it shouldn't have this behavior, when menu is called from a game (skirmish/mission). In this case, it should make "return to game", like the button in menu.

So, that was only my 2cts worth, i'm sorry if i'm not in the right place, i haven't found any "suggestion" part :wink:

How does the noob know something about AddToGroup lines ???

And your suggestions about Esc button were said a lot of times .

Wow, that's welcoming and mature.
Well, sorry for repeating suggestion, i should have searched about it.
And about your first eloquent sentence, it doesn't take years to see how ressources are added to game, moreover when it's so opened to modding, and even less to find "CoalitionWeapons" in a .ini file.

Only wanted to help somehow, but ok, i got it, "noob" doesn't get to speak.

Yeah, I agree with the ESC thing. One too many times I've had to pause the game while I was making a nice bunker, and I accidentally exit the game.

He's russian. Or ukrainian.

Also, grenade, when I joined, I had somewhat knowledge on how some variables worked.
Not all newbies are completly clueless.

What the hell are you talking about the ESC key? It just pauses the game, you CAN continue to play, i have NO problems with it. Just press "Resume" at the bottom and you are back to the game....

If you hit the esc key again while at the menu it'll exit the game, which can be very annoying. It'd be a whole lot better if hitting the esc key a second time resumes the game.

Also, along with the CoalitionWeapons thing, there's also the Coalition Compact Rifle; which defines the rifles and automatics categories, when everything else stopped using those categories. So now those two categories are still cluttering the menu; while only having one gun that's also elsewhere.

I'm personally used to the double escape thing and would be somewhat annoyed if it got changed now. But I suppose for people in general it would be best if escape brought you back to the game.

Im from great and very cheap country called Ukraine (its in Europe) . And its even harder for me to understand code language cause im ukrainian .

I have an idea for the Escape button thing- there could be a thing in the
Options/Controls panel that says whether you have double Esc = Exit, or
double Esc = Resume Game. Just a Possibility that i would expect to make
everyone happy.

I say we don't bother with making everybody happy because they simply won't be, that's a fact of life.

As for the weapon categorizing I completely agree. If only a simple "expandable" menu system was available. That would of course require Data to overhaul the menu system me thinks.

Adding the option will make make more people happy than deciding for them will though.
It's not necessarily everyone, but it is more, and that is better.

Anyone wanting one of those two options will be happy, which is probably a major majority.
There may be someone out there who would still want some other option, but having two options they don't like is no worse than having one of the two they don't like decided for them.
