Map Viewing
I reckon there should be a key you can hold down to make the movement keys scroll around the map, so you can see if any enemies are advancing on your brain without having to actually be there.

i think it would be a nice feature.
This gives an opening for the enemy so it's fair enough.

A camera actor would be good. But give him a really low amount of health. Possibly in a constant state of hovering as well. And no arms, so he can't have a gun.

I like the idea of a camera actor. You could film first-person movies with him, instead of all these side-view .gifs! Not sure how that would work, though...

I was thinking more along the lines of a small, relatively tough metal ball that is totally inert, and just sits on the ground so that you can switch to it and see whats going on.
And is pretty cheap.
