Post Friendly Fire? Squads moving with each other as a team?
Couldn't there be a ff on / ff off option? For me (and maybe other players idk) friendly fire is really annoying. I can fire at the same enemy when im level with my teammate but im behind him... cause yeah he would get pwned... Like when im in a tunnel in my bunker i place a clone patrolling in there and i have another one of my guys that Im controlling try to walk past him = gibbing, lots of crushing and gibbing. If i were to move him i would probably have to move the other clone that was patrolling out of the base in the open (possibility of getting kill in this sit ( |___<(AI)___+(Me)_____| ) when it would be easier just walking past each other? Wouldn't it be awesome having a whole clones behind a barricade defending a bunker,(when there level and not TK'ing) and a whole squad moving together, one at the back covering the behind 2 at the front both shooting something in front of them at each others level without blasting each other to pieces? Squads in this would be pretty cool also, like sending a group a five clones to assault a base without having to switch over or something  . Im just suggesting some ideas.. Comment freely!

This game is supposed to be physically realistic: in the real world, a bullet will kill somebody, regardless of what side they're on. There is no code to discern whose bullet belongs to whom, because once they have been fired, they are on their own, flying particles of nasty death.

In the real world, there are three dimensions.

(You can step to the side and shoot around your friends.)

Problem is that his game is TWO dimensional. Besides I don't find it bad I just make sure my patrols aren't near each other.

Metal Slug is not realistic in the LEAST.
Learn to understand that, in CC and, more importantly, real life, bullets are not on any "teams". They are flying scraps of metal/pixels made to hurt and/or kill and will not care if the person they hit is your friend, your enemy, or even YOU.
(Well, in CC, the latter isn't all true, as it's impossible to shoot yourself with any of the standard guns)

You can shoot yourself if the map is thin enough.

Not with bullets since bullets don't hit the actor who shot them, explosives do.

Edit: This statment is false. :(

Yes they do.

They're on either a timer, or a system to count how many times they circle the map.

I think that it's a timer, and either based on a percentage of lifetime or a specific lifetime.

Believe me, you can be shot by your own bullets.

I don't mind friendly fire so much, it's just walking past a clone that annoys me.

I have been accidentally shot by an AI controlled teammate before though, and it wasn't like I jetpacked into it either. The AI just didn't account for the bullet spread and tried to shoot over me.

I think that you should be able to walk past teammates, and the AI should be smarter with where they aim.

As much as I worry about the changes that would come from things like walking or shooting past teammates, there's no doubt that the clones are prodigiously stupid and awkward. And it just doesn't make any sense that they can't at least walk around each other. I mean honestly, who builds bunker hallways that are of a decent height but so narrow that two people can't even squeeze by each other. And could you even move properly in a hall that narrow? You'd try to pull out your gun and your elbows would hit the walls.

It's playable as is, and it's entertaining as is. It could be a lot better if it were easier for squads to work, though. You could perhaps do the following: When sharp aiming, you can shoot around friendly clones. You can only shoot around a maximum of two clones, after which it hits the third. Some units and objects would be impossible to shoot around, such as dropships and rockets. (Possibly dreadnoughts) It could be distance limited as well; after a distance of about 3-4 clones you would no longer be able to shoot around teammates accurately.

But even if those kinds of things never get implemented, something to make the AI smarter about spread radius and effective range would be immensely helpful. When they try to sharpshoot skeletons with a digger while standing in a group of four clones, I'm not happy.
