Stuff about Build 21 YOU should know (FAQ, etc.)
Until Data gets a list up about the new features of Build 21, this topic will be the epicenter of newfound information by the users. Feel free to contribute. CPU Smoothing, Slowing Down, and Strange Sound issues:Quote: (14:06:30) dtabar@gmail.com: yeah they can turn off the slowing down etc with ctrl+o New and fixed features:- The suspension on the rockets has been fixed. It can now stand up straight.
- Ships are much sturdier. The dropship no longer explodes on a touch with the ground.
- The Lua console can be accessed with either the "`" key (next to your 1 key on the number row) or the "/" key. Stuff about Lua will eventually be able to be found here: http://www.datarealms.com/wiki/index.ph ... ction=edit .
- Support for much higher and lower resolutions, from 320x200 all the way up to 1280x800.
- Scene scripting is now done entirely in Lua. See directory Base.rte/Scenes/Scripts

Bug: Sometimes the game crashes when you destroy a dropship.

Wrong, my baby can go 1680x1050, that's the size of my screen. I bet you could go even higher.

I'm pritty sure that drops ships don't make as much clutter when destroyed anymore, as it seems to dispear over time.

Re: Stuff about Build 21 YOU should know (FAQ, etc.)
Looks like a major overhaul of the material settings, making dirt and debris weaker and concrete and steel stronger. (I think, I haven't looked at the numbers.) Major improvement, now debris piles look like piles and not like houses of cards (almost no air pockets), and diggers can be used somewhat to clean up your bunker without damaging it. Huuuge improvement in playability. Thanks Data! I'd actually still say they could be tweaked further in the same direction. That'll probably come over future builds. Possibly, the strengths of all materials should be upped some to prevent jig-digging. (Skeletons walking back and forth to dig tunnels.) Debris would need no upping, and concrete and steel would need more upping than the rest, to make an even more stark contrast. Diggers might need to be tweaked a little too. This would, hopefully, allow light diggers to be used to clean up organic matter junk, medium diggers for tunneling through dirt and cleaning up debris, and heavy diggers for burrowing through bunker walls. Man, now the game is smoother, sleeker, more playable, more balanced, more flexible... I'm stunned. And that's without the Lua. I'm in love.

That command is one of my favourites: next to this one: Code: for actor in MovableMan.Actors do actor.Vel = Vector(1000, 10) end
