How much is it going to cost when it gets to the retail stage? Well, it doesn't really matter, cause this is the best game ever! Thank you o great Data!

Hasn't been too terribly long, especially considering that Data announced that he had silly real world things to do.
I doubt the retail version'll come out for a while yet. The only reason we're talking about it is because it's so friggin awesome we'd be willing to pay for it at this point.

Oh well, I can wait. Mods will keep the game going for awhile until the next build. But when this game comes out, I'm definately going to buy it.

Really though, if you can't pay for it, then sorry, you have to keep the beta version. Which looks like it will still be very good. He just needs to be paid for his work. And it seems that it will be very popular, as it already has reviews, so it should make quite a bit of money. And you're asking him to make it free? Sorry, but it won't hapeen. Just wait until you can buy it, and play the beta during that time.

I know Data should be making money for it, but I think the people who can't pay for it should be able to have it.

That would be nice, but he can't just give it away probably. You can buy it for them as gifts if you want.

He's saying they Data shouldn't make the beta releases pay-to-play.

No, that would defeat the purpose of a beta. Which is for testing. He'd take the betas off of the site once he started to charge, but some of the CC members will have the old beta.

Warning, The editor will NOT appear in the next build, but everything else mentioned in the dev log will. The version after that will probably be the editor version.
As of now, If you have the shield in your inventory, it will automatically be pulled up when you press and hold the inventory key, like changing weapons or reloading. It will also be pulled up and held in your background arm when you equip any one-handed weapon (pistol etc), so you can move and shoot with the sheild up. It will not work with two handed stuff thuogh (SMG etc).
Also, you can just pull up the sheild explicitly and move around with it. There will be different shields of different sizes and materials and weights.

The shield system sounds like it'll work well, sucks about the Scene Editor though. Oh well.

Well I guess it is better to wait for a better version of the editor then a minorly "rushed" one (I am not saying it would be rushed if it was included in the next Beta).
