Bear federation, unitech base modules, then take one of the cage looking storage areas in one of the modules and place a few gold mines in there with my brain. No problem with gold and then set up some darklone sentry turrets.

Re: Gameplay - What do you do in Cortex Command?
Hey guys. I've been lurking for some time, though I've been playing CC since test build 10 (holy ♥♥♥♥ that's like three years now, come to mention it). I thought I'd throw in a few comments of my own: To me, Cortex Command has always been one of those games that are the most fun when you don't play it the way it was intended to be played. I'm sure it will be once it's finished, but in its present state it's still a bit too rough around the edges. I usually play split-screen with my brother (he's on the keyboard, I use a dual-analog joypad), and although playing the game in a regular manner kept us more than satisfied for the first few weeks, eventually we got bored and started to experiment. Here's a list of things we often do when playing CC. Some of them are artificial challenges, some are just plain silly. Many of them require quite a lot of gold to pull off, so we usually mess around with the INI files to get more gold. Here we go: - RAMPAGE: Set the difficulty level to DEATH. Don't build a bunker, but place your brain(s) in a concrete box somewhere out of reach from enemies. Then just buy a handful of clones and go on a rampage on the surface, armed to the teeth.
- SURVIVAL: Line up a bunch of clones (10-30 should be enough), don't give them any weapons. Place your brain(s) in a small box underground, right below your clones. The mission is to survive for as long as possible, without a bunker, and without buying any extra weapons or actors. The only way to get weapons is to kill enemies by slamming into them and stealing their weapons. You're gonna die a lot, but it's crazy fun.
- NUCLEAR WAR: Use Rockets as tactical missiles. Crash them into things, take down enemy dropships with them. You can load them full of grenades for extra effect.
- SUICIDE BOMBERS: Take an actor and pack it full of grenades (preferrably stick nades). Run up to your opponent and release the sh*tstorm. Not a very profitable strategy, but definitely lulzy.
- LOOTING: Don't dig for gold. Instead, loot enemy corpses for weapons and load them into craft and sell them for gold by returning them to SpaceOrder corps. It's kind of hard to pull off, but it's a nice challenge.
- RACE OF DEATH: Play on opposite teams (without AI enemies) and use horizontal bunker tiles to build a straight racing track that goes all around the game world (kind of like a long tunnel). Leave a small entrance somewhere so your clones can get in, and use other tiles to mark a finish line somewhere. Race each other using your jetpacks - first to complete ten laps, or last man standing, wins. Makes for some absolutely hilarious deaths, when you fly out of control and hit the curb at over 9000 mph.
- DIGGER JETPACK: In older builds (before B22, I think) you could fly using only diggers. Take a lightweight actor like a skeleton or clone and point the digger at the ground and fire. The recoil will keep you airborne as long as you're not carrying any other weapons. With a bit of practice, they're even better than the regular jetpacks. And chopping people's heads off while flying by is quite satisfying.
- ARENA: Play without AI enemies, and build a flying arena. Then order ten random actors each and go head-to-head on the arena, one actor at a time, until either team runs out of combatants. Try it with different weapons, or just go loose on each other with your bare fists (that is, by slamming into each other until one of you drops dead).
- GRENADE DUEL: Each player buys an actor with a riot shield and a bunch of grenades. Stand at about one screen's distance from each other, and take turns throwing grenades at each other and deflecting them with your shields. No running or jumping allowed! Also works with Repeller guns instead of shields.
- CARPET BOMBING: Take a dropship and load it full of various explosives. Then fly around the battlefield at high altitude with the dropship hatch open. Listen gleefully to the horrified screams below. SADIST MODE: Drop clones instead of grenades.
- UNDERGROUND BUNKER: Set difficulty to DEATH, build an underground bunker and put a few armed actors in it. Then dig yourself out and order a dropship to come and rescue you before the enemies kill you or reach your brain. Or do it the other way around: Build an empty underground bunker and try to make your way into it while wading through legions of enemies.
- DEFEND THE PRESIDENT: Order an unarmed actor and set it to walk around the map (go-to AI mode). Then order a bunch of army dudes and protect the President at all costs.
I really love this game because it doesn't tell you what to do, so you can just make up your own rules and whatnot. Modding is fun too, though I kind of suck at it. And this is probably the lengthiest first post I've ever done on a forum

Great first post, and welcome (really, you should welcome me since I started playing in June 07 :| ). As for myself, I pretty much play only some abstract RP scenarios, like a lone sniper in his tiny bunker trying to survive against those bastard Ronin's who sweep the area.

I usually play rampage, where I make my brain invincible and face off against either the AI or my little bro.
Klone Soccer is a hoot too.

For me i tend to play with EvilPoni's zombies as my enemies and use a unitec medic armed with a sniper and a bow in a small tower and see how long i can hold out.

Wow, you're right, someone should mod the Soccer Klone as a zombie. that'd be AWESOME.

I have an idea, screw burst damage, and emission damage, we go for gib impulse limits, and gib wound limits for damaging. And the jetpack, stays the same, can't go wrong with exploding zombies, but they can only jump, so the only chances of them flying is if you hit that pack. It is destroyes when either the base head and pack is destroyed, or if the base torso is gibbed.
