Post aye this is getting out of hand
LEMMEGETTHISSTRAIGHT.

macs are equal to pcs. The have their differences, but they all do different things better. I like macs, but i wouldnt have one, as they just don't suit me. And i dont particularly resent the fact that my XP pc computer crashes the same time every month.

Does anyone know what kind of file formats i am up against?

what is CC written in?, as that will give me a good basis for research.

It's C++, which is a PC only interface I believe (I may be wrong).
Basically, you'd have to do some hefty programming to convert the game into a mac based code, and don't forget mods...

Have you ever gotten tons of spam in your email? Thank the millions-strong botnets that the poor security of Windows has enabled to exist. There are next to no viruses on *nix OSes, and there isn't a single one that's prevalent today. And before somebody says it's due to the obscurity of these OSes, you should consider that the majority of servers run a form of *nix. .It's not just about viruses, either. All that adware garbage that burrows into your system and registry simply

Um.. What does email have to do with the computer? Thats all in the adress. I got hotmail and my inbox is stuffed with ****. Thats cause of homtail, not windows.

C++ code will compile on a Mac, no problem. Mods are only dependent on the game itself, which wouldn't change when compiling on a Mac. With a combination like C++, OGG, and SDL, I wouldn't worry. ;D

Let me end all arguments about Macs, porting, etc.

Cortex Command will NOT be ported to Mac until the final version is released. Data needs to concentrate on, y'know, coding the GOD DAMN GAME before getting it over to another system. So please, shut up, stop arguing about OSes, and just WAIT.

You're quite wrong.

All he has to do is send the source to someone with a Mac, and, presumably, Bloodshed Dev C++. Then they compile it, and, bam, CC for Mac.

As for mods, they're just text and image files. The default Mac text editor is basically Notepad, but for Macs. No conversion necessary whatsoever.

So, all you morons, stop bitching about how shitty macs are. Neither OS is superior.

cambiogris. shutup. Every operating system is good. It just depends on the user, for someone like my grandma, windows is just fine. she's not gonna get viruses because she doesn't know how to use the internet. For someone like you, mac, or linux is fine because your an idiot, and thus need all the virus protection you can get. there I said it. now shutup and stop derailing the subject of this thread.

What an intelligent argument!
I'm going to send you 100$ on your paypal just fot this phrase...

Instead of telling us the first thing that come up in your mind, go out, smoke a cigarette, turn back to the pc, download a linux distro and install it.
Then you'll be allowed to open your mouth but not to write, yet.

N.B.
Windows Vista Premium is about 200-300$ + all the programs = about 600-700$? (you aren't going to download warez, are you?)
Linux? Linux is all you need for free. FREE.

C'mon guys, go out play football instead of staying 10+ hours a day stick with your Vista (at least use Ubuntu  )

Well, to be fair, Vista Premium isn't essential (I'm even using XP Home atm as my Kubuntu laptop upgrades), and cheaper versions can be had for much less. I'm more than competent with any computer, but was the bump needed? :(

It's a quite recend thread, the last message was posted just 2 weeks ago :p

I know Vista Premium isn't essential, but it has just few programs, and Basic has even more things installed...
People shouldn't pay for an OS like that...when a excellent OS like Ubuntu is free and open..

I guess while we're on the subject...
I just installed Kubuntu on a laptop I received. The only hassles I had were disabling the apic controller, installing codecs, and installing the driver for my legacy ATI Radeon 9100 Mobility. (It's a real POS, but hey, the laptop was free. ) The software suite that comes with it is also great, I've even found Konqueror to be a pretty good browser. I like how everything just works out of the box, though. Two thumbs up to this distro.

Macs are superior in all fields to PC except one. Game compatibility.

Macbook with XP partition is superior to all other computers.

so mac is best, it runs both, thus covering all problems.

Yes, the reasons are 3:

- Macs are expensive.
- People doesn't like to change things and most pc user are newbish.
- Game and programs compatibility

Now i want you to find me another tecnical reason why should windows be my first choose when i buy a pc.

Coming back in topic, i think a mac conversion isn't the first thing people would like.. i think a linux one is most requested :)

You spelled technical wrong.
Windows is as powerful as Mac. Atleast XP is. Windows is easy to use, runs well, and is only slow if you download too much.
