Post Let's talk about optimization
I won't pretend to know what exactly needs to be done or how hard it would be to optimize Cortex Command better. What I'm here to do is talk about why no matter how difficult it is, it must be done if the developers really care about making a good game and care about their players.

Games are made for the players, many of which (I imagine) cannot play Cortex Command the way it's supposed to be played. Unless your processor is in the 3.0ghz+ range then you run into serious performance issues. The slowdowns in gameplay are unbearable, to the point where users like me can't even play survival or multiplayer and campaign with 4 players is teetering on the edge of being annoyingly slow. Playing the game at 25% speed is like dredging through a swamp and it's just not fun. I find myself thinking of playing multiplayer with my friends and then being disappointed that my PC which can run Crysis, Max Payne 3, and other intensive games on the highest graphics without serious frame loss can't handle Cortex Command. It's a big tasty candy bar behind a sheet of glass called poor optimization that is preventing me from enjoying it. I can see how awesome it looks but I can't really enjoy it.

And Cortex Command isn't like most games where if it runs poorly you just turn the graphics down and enjoy the same gameplay at a reasonable FPS.

I don't know how many players also have extreme slowdown issues but I'd guess it's a rather large amount of players. Anyone else feel the same way?

Yeah pretty much everyone had a hard time running Magicka until they patched it like 2 months after release.

I just hope Data is doing whatever he can, Cortex Command just has such a high level of poor optimization.

Now, I can't speak for any of the devs, but from some of Data's previous post he is very against premature optimization.

This is actually a thing, he posted a Wikipedia link to it once. The reason that the game is not being optimized right now is that it is not complete. I am pretty/very sure that after 1.0/1.1/1.2 (if of course it keeps getting updates/I am sure there will be more little tweaks) there will be one/a few updates purely for optimization.

Yeah that's why I'm talking about it now, we're approaching the actual release of the game. I just want to make sure data does plan to optimize it.
