A quick question
why does the base in the default cortex command map come in bits and pices? Eg. brain room, bunker. and all that couldent you make the whole base just one image or is there a anti-lag system at work here?
( I want to know because im makeing a cortex command map in HD )

Because that's how they wanted to do it, why the hell would you think it is anti-lag.

Well, the brain vault concrete is significantly stronger than normal concrete, if that has anything to do to it.

No it isn't. The material map uses reinforced concrete.

It's probably because if they want to make a new brain bunker, they only need to make a new piece. If they want to make a new order, they just flip the brain bunker and attach it to the left of the rocket silo. If you noticed, they already did replace an old one with this newer version. There's a very small bunker piece in there that isn't used.

I just assume people on a dev forum would be able to realise that loading a bitmap then making it into terrain doesn't cause lag other then the time it takes to compile it.

But they don't. Not everyone is a professional developer. Some are people who just played the game, and wanted to go on the only forum about it, and maybe even mod it. They're just learning. So if you let up, and be more constructive, you'll be much more liked by the newbies. And more of the non-newbies too.
