Post AAL: Spitfire V4 OPEN BETA (v4.2 uploaded)
So weve been working with TLB on the spitfire's burning feature and now its pretty much ready.

Credits to The Last Banana and Eraghon for some code we stole from him.

I need some opinions if its balanced enough. Not too terrain hungry, deadly enough... ect.

Download it and say your opinion on it!

UPDATE: V4.1 a bit lower on this page.

UPDATE222: V4.2 released - better sfx, effects and fixed the emitter bug.

The coding is fine, but the effect looks more like a floating explosion than flames to me, since the flames and smoke seem a bit too heavy and doesn't float up like real fire does.

Although the coding is perfect. I'm going to go play around with it a bit.

And I thought the other Spitfire was good. :o This gun is pure win with a little bit of win-relish on the side. You should mount this on a dropship and rain fire from the skies. Mwahahahaha... MWAHAHAH-Ahem. <.<

Point taken. Good comments and ive already fixed and tweaked those. And ive added a few sounds for the burning effect.

Otherwise really good, but it doesn´t sound like real fire.

I preferred it without the burny SFX for some reason. But it's still pure win.

Much prettier than the original beta...
However, it falls off of walls if you set them on fire...

I modified the emitter a bit to my liking, although I can't figure out how to keep the flames burning longer, which I think you guys should do.

In other words: The sounds suck, change em. Anyone have some decent fire/burning sounds?

@ TLB: That is intentional. The fire goes down so you can flush a nasty inferno on actors that are being in a nice vertical shaft.

@ Erahgon: Ill test that after I get home. Ill comment later.

Other wise kickass, but you gonna change sprites?

Yeah, the sounds get a bit loud and annoying when you've got a big patch of burny.

The tracer particles that explodes into the long-lasting firey effects only appears to have one sprite, so it looks funny when you're firing it long distance or at an arc: the rest of the fire dies out but one big, static ball of flame continues and blows up.

Its a lot of fun to use, but it loses some realism when you try to arc it into the air: The flaming ball lasts longer than the stream of fire.

Ill fix that with the LifeTime. The problem is if I make it invisible, it will be easy to see that you just launched an emitter. As for MOSR, you cant animate them unfortunately. I think the Lifetime will fix this. Ive also found a few sounds in few places around my HD. Ill release a Beta 4.2 soon.

Ok, I think this might be it, the final version.

Test it out and say what you think of it.
