Aperture Laboratories -We do what we must, because we can!
I recently rekindled my obsession with Portal all over again. I played through it, absorbed the levels, beat the game again, and so... Epic Brain Unit - GLaDOS - Severe WIP. I'm trying polish it a lot so this head alone has taken me a day or two, but I thought I'd throw it out there. More pieces to come as I sprite them, but I suck at spriting and I'm so new to it, so updates probably won't be very frequent. Hopefully I'll have a cool playable brain unit afterword though. As with all my posts: Flame Game is No, Feedback is Go.

Re: Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System
Nice sprites, please make this mod in a way that involves a more orthodox method of installation.

Re: Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System
You sir have won. That sprite is awesome. Now all we need after you get this working is the rocket turret and normal turret. Whoa, turrets that can be pushed over. That would be awesome.

Re: Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System
The sprite definitely needs some work. Primarily contrast, and whatever that stuff is in the middle.

Yes, yes, I get it. I suck at .rars lol. This one will be fine. It'll be it's own neat .rte since it doesn't depend on anything else. Ultric wrote: You sir have won. That sprite is awesome. They'll play the sound files on death too if I can work it right! ProjektODIN wrote: The sprite definitely needs some work. Primarily contrast, and whatever that stuff is in the middle. I don't think I was that far off, but I know it still needs work. It's a WIP after all. If you want to know the picture I used for reference, here's a comparison:

Re: Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System
UPDATE!: I've started on the blue sphere module. Need to add more beef to the sides and a lot more shading. But more importantly, I threw together a very rough mockup of what GLaDOS will more than likely look like after I'm done with a likely 10,000 shading and model edits. (excluding the monitors, top platform and the 4 rings of course): I'm pleased with the mockup, and it gives me a good base to work off now. As a side note, when I get all of my spriting done, I'll need someone to help me code. I'm a freaking retard when it comes to coding offsets and variables. Hope to keep this thread rolling!

Re: Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System
Heh, I'm making this so I can build a bunker to fit IT, not the other way around. It's to scale more/less. If you ever played Portal, GLaDOS is not small. She has her own HUGE chamber.

Nice sprites, man. I can totally see an entire portal mod (minus the portals of course) coming out of this...Aperture Science Bunker modules would be awesome.

Re: Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System
By the way, if you look closely, GLADOS resembles a bound person hanging upside-down.

Re: Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System
One problem with that mockup: the perspective changes. The 'head' doesn't match the body.
