I think he should stop being a ♥♥♥♥♥ and release it, and accept help from anyone willing to give him good sprites.

Caelas wrote: Ok, let me give you some critique. Ok first, all of the actors are smaller than "humans" when they should be bigger. Second, the sprites lack "detail", and third, the only thing that interests me is the terminator. Otherwise this pack is well, old. The sprites do the job for representing the SM's, Sororitas, Steel Legion, Orks, Tyranids ect. It is too simple for most people, understandably. But I like to actually play the game instead of discuss making something for weeks on end. Caelas wrote: I am currently spriting a new guardsman and lasgun. And how long will that take you? Caelas wrote: Oh and one more thing, DONT advertise your mod in my topic. This thread is titled "Warhammer 40k Actors and corresponding weapons." I seem to be following the subject of this thread, Warhammer.

Wow, RedSarge is a complete Git. "But I like to actually play the game instead of discuss making something for weeks on end." Really did it for me. If you don't like his modding speed, go elsewhere. I've spent probably near 6 months on one actor, I like to have a life rather than play games, make mods and troll forums.

Re: Warhammer 40k Actors and corresponding weapons.
These pictures are from a VERY VERY old build (like build 13), even back then it was a WIP mod. I remember this because Caelas had created a topic JUST like this one in which people could collaborate on WH40K mods and even then whoever had posted this mod refused to actually post the .rar of it.

Re: Warhammer 40k Actors and corresponding weapons.
Hello everyone. I have returned.
I am not here to troll or be an ass, but I am here to say that I would like to start over, and contribute.
To make things clear, I finished school, I haven't started college, I am presently unemployed, and have a MASSIVE amount of TIME to work in. My partner is a fantastic artist and has offered to make sprites, including re-make 100% of my sprites for the tau conversion I made. Yes, in retrospect, my sounds for it where piss, however, I am not going to just rip the sounds out of DoW because all it is is a bunch of 'pew pew' lazers, which is NOT what the tau are supposed to have. The people who made Dawn of war, are retarded, I've known people who work at THQ, who all say that THQ stands for "To Hell with Quality".
I will NOT base ANY of the work I put in off of DoW, but ONLY the models that I have access to.
I own models for the current edition. I have Tau, Grey knights, Space-wolves, and imperial guard models in my appartment.
I have the codex for Space marines, spacewolves, daemon hunters, necron, imperial guard, and tau.
I have Imperial Armour 3 - taros campain, and Imperial Armour 4 - Anphelion project. I also have a bunch of chapter approved updates, and a good 1/4 of the novels (to my knowledge).
If someone can get me the 'patch notes' that can update me in the differences between B 20 and 21, I will be more than happy to work day and night.
The only snag is i'm running a D&D campaign every other night or so, and recently got into WoW, and will probably get on Warhammer online when it comes out.

Re: Warhammer 40k Actors and corresponding weapons.
Hey miles, good to hear you finished high school. I'm a sophomore, and it SUCKS. i get to go to a tech school supported by Bill Clinton after my first semester so that should be fun.
I agree with you whole heartedly about dow, but I think dow 2 will be a much better representation of 40k as a whole.
So I think Miles can do the tau side of things, me, can'ttouchtheground and vanakra will work on the space marine, guardsman, lasgun's, and piezo's bolter, along with a new chainsword. I will sprite and do some coding, I'm hoping to teach myself over the next couple of weeks. And Vanakra will most likely sprite. And CTTG, he will probably code. Just let me know guys. And red sarge, just piss off and release your damn mod.

Re: Warhammer 40k Actors and corresponding weapons.
um... I'll need to know wtf is different before I start, because I looked and a bunch of variables look totaly different. namely, the way naming works, some of them are backwards, like AddEffect = Attachable with Attachable = AddEffect. At least I think that's what it was.
If someone can tell me the changes, i'll get to work.... as soon as I get off of GMod now that I got it <_<

The screens are from Build 14, and I got my stuff in Build 18 also. I was the one who originally posted this mod in the old thread. The one Caelas created, yet contributed nothing to. Being a "leader" of people who are creating something for "FUN", in there "spare time". Is a lame-assed excuse if you yourself do not contribute. This sort of crap happens all the time on Relic Forums, noobs asking to be the "idea guy" of people who actually have some modding ability. BTW Relic created Dawn of War, THQ only published it.

Re: Warhammer 40k Actors and corresponding weapons.
Redsarge, quit being a troll.
Caelas , don't feed the troll.
anyway, guess what, GMod doesn't work. In fact, my copy of the orange box, doesn't work, it won't connect to any server.
anyway, I have at least 1 person in my appartment ready, willing and able, to make sprites for damn near everything.
I will cover tau, and I offer to do 'crons and 'nids as well.
Yes, it will be true to the models, and the game stats, as well as the fluff.
so, Necron weapons will actually dissintegrate things and make them implode, as a gauss weapon should. (See : Necron codex/> gauss weaponry)
Yes. I will make my own sounds as well, however, I will have to really work at it, rather than just go " I'll send a piano string through over-drive 12 times and muffle it and use THAT as tau guns! W00T LOLOLOLOL"

Searching, I'm trying to find the latest one, I think it was build 18.
