Yeah.. I did forget the jetpack.

But, unless you made a circle that surrounded the actor, it wouldn't really defend you very well.

And here FinnCorp comes in:

You can have multiple jetpacks, but only first one in list will work.
This way, you can make many "jetpacks" which work like shields.
This is tested and is fact.

Huh. I can add more than two engines, they just dont thrust, which is just good for an armor... so no, it shouldn't be impossible.

they wont thrust b/c you havnt defined where the 2 new thrusters should thrust from. so yea, its basically a shield. try to resprite the engines and turn them into a thing around the engines and see iff that can be an armor thing.

Alternately, if they move in syncronization with the engines, instead of making them generic spheres, you could make them scaled version of the engine, but hollowed out. That way, it really would be like armor plating (and not some cheap-looking bubble)

you couldn't with the dropship itself, because you'd lose the contents.
you can't do it with the doors, because well, they dont come off.

if anything, you could do it with the thrusters,

Sorry to necro a bit, but I thought about just writing a small guide on adding armors to Dropships.

1. Open the dropship code.

2. Find this part

Code:
   RThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Right Engine
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = 49
         Y = -3
   LThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Left Engine
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = -49
         Y = -3


3. Copy paste parts of it so it looks like this. (note: the amount of LThrusters is the amount of your armors. They can also be RThrusters if you feel like it.)

Code:
   RThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Right Engine
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = 49
         Y = -3
   LThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Left Engine
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = -49
         Y = -3
   LThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Left Engine
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = -49
         Y = -3
   LThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Left Engine
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = -49
         Y = -3
   LThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Left Engine
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = -49
         Y = -3


4. Then change the new parts into something like this.

Code:
   LThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Left Engine
      InstanceName = Examplethingy
      SpriteFile = ContentFile
         FilePath = Something.rte/something/something/Yourarmor.bmp
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = -49
         Y = -3


5. Then just tweak the offsets right. Now you have added an armor to your ship, and by adding these lines to it like this...

Code:
   LThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Left Engine
      InstanceName = Examplethingy
      SpriteFile = ContentFile
         FilePath = Something.rte/something/something/Yourarmor.bmp
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = -49
         Y = -3
      GibImpulseLimit = 300 //These lines
      GibWoundLimit = 10 // These lines

...You can tweak the strenght of the armours.

6. Now you just have one thing to do. Make some gibs.
Code:
   LThruster = AEmitter
      CopyOf = Drop Ship Left Engine
      InstanceName = Examplethingy
      SpriteFile = ContentFile
         FilePath = Something.rte/something/something/Yourarmor.bmp
      ParentOffset = Vector
         X = -49

      AddGib = Gib  //new line

            CopyOf = Drop Ship Engine Gib A  //new line
         SpriteFile = ContentFile //new line
            FilePath = Something.rte/something/something/Armorgib.bmp //new line
         Count = 1  //new line
         Spread = 2.25  //new line
         MaxVelocity = 3  //new line
         MinVelocity = 10  //new line
      GibImpulseLimit = 300
      GibWoundLimit = 10


And thats about it... Hope you like it! And now im late from school.. so I GOTTA RUN!!! AAGH!
