Post EMTech/ EMRI Ltd - Egret Mining & Recearch Industries Ltd..
Hello everyone, i've been lurking around the forums for a while watching the mods grow and such and after i bought CC I decided to give spriting a go.

and now ive decided to create an entire race with weapons and dropships too!

Image

That would be the 2nd Mark in my race's Mining Vehicles. itl either be a biped or have reverse-joint legs... or BOTH!

I've already separated the parts so that i can code them easier.

Tell me what you think?

also if you have some tips and tricks to share that would be awesome!

P.S. when i uploaded the .bmp to photobucket it autmatically conerted it to a .jpg which thrashed the image quality, anyone know what i can do or use to make it clearer. thanks again

This looks pretty cool, good luck with it! :)
You may want to serparate the legs on the walker just a bit though, so it looks like it
stands on two legs instead of one.
Also, regarding the legs, you know that you have to do the individual sprites for the
"bending states", right? Of course, having the parts ready might be useful, so you can
just position and rotate them instead of having to do a new sprite every time.
Nevermind me, i'm just rambling :P
I hope we can get to see that walker in the game soon, but by all means, take your time!
A mod rushed is a mod... Flushed... Yeah.

And lastly, save your images as .png, it helps a lot on the size, and it doesn't lose quality.

The leg wouldn't look like one leg, since the legs ingame moves a little bit around while idle.

Maybe wherever there's Blue showing, make that a panel of armor, and on the actual sprite, make it brown where the panel will go on.

May get some examples up here later.

If you look at the actual sprite images for any actor, you'll see that the arms and legs are single sprites, not two sprites. I had the same impression you did back in the day, because it seemed logical since everything else in in pieces. But no, a limb is a single sprite with a few frames of animation.

Save the files in png before you upload them.
