Errr.. that make sense?
Anyway, yea I'm studying animation. Eventually I intend to go into games development. I aspire to be a lead games designer.
We share similar goals, my friend. I too, aspire to get into game development!
I have a master plan for a game I hope to create one day, so long as no one takes it first.

Aracanid: Animation isn't necessary to get into games design, it's just one of the ways you can break into the industry. Also I consider it important to me as when I design my characters in the future I want them to move exactly as I imagine, and if I can animate them then that will be that little bit easier for me to achieve.
AlphaCommando: Feel free to mention them! The MK3 elite is basically someones customised MK3 unit, I'm saving it till the next build because with the current physics the large backpack causes movement issues and frequent crashing, and there is no way around it without severe alterations of the design which I don't want to change.

I'm getting the feeling we will have a lot of competition!
Good luck my friend!

it was the sixth day of the Craul 7-a campaign this is the history of robot XM-259
the robot had just been launched out of a rocket when it was blown to bits. its head flew thru the air and landed on a small hill where it recorded the newest sighting of the crimson brothers. they came running down the hill from behind the robots head blasting everything in sight they were unstoppable.
they ran just beyond the sight of the robots head when a giant explosion behind them flung dirt into the air. they're bodies where never found so therefor it is believed they are still alive.
is that fine fan fic of the crobos?
(and yes i know my grammar and/or spelling suck)

yea, im 14 but aspire to create games. Although I would prefere to do concept art I am thinking of finding a way of teaching myself at least some C or C++. At the moment I wish i could afford to buy photoshop. My school has it, heck it has everything my adobe but we are never aloud to use it.I use it when i can and try new things on it, but I doubt its enough. I have no idea on 3d moddeling or animation, but im willing to learn. Chances are the program is very dear, if it is then theres no chance I can try. Anyway, captnbubs... any pointers on someone in this situation?

The best thing you can do is keep exercising your imagination, write stories, draw pictures etc.
When you play good games, pay attention to how they work, why did they put a boss here? why is this fight so much more fun than the last one? stuff like that.
At the moment your a bit young to think about how your gonna break into the industry or learning the tools, because by the time you leave education and try to get a job all of the standards will have changed.
Instead of trying to learn things that will be outdated in a few years, concentrate on improving your understanding of the fundamentals of game design that will always be important. Things like gameplay and narrative, things like level and character design and such.
Sure you should mess around with the programs they use now because you don't want to be totally clueless when you come to trying to learn whatever comes next, but for now think most about the things that aren't going to change.
Hope that helps

Actually, alot of old games are better than the newer games.

Yeah, but unafortunately in a few years, the "old games" will be the newer ones right now. That's all the industry cares about.
I'm afraid that in a few years people will think that Space Invaders, Pong or Arkanoid are legends and never existed. Nowadays there are people who say really stupid things (the PS1 was the first console ever made, the Wii/Xbox 360/PS3 generation is the third, and so on).
I wish classics really lived forever, as some people say.

The first video game ever made was infact a game called "chase game". Where 2 pixels would chase each other round the screen. But Pong was published first.
And if anyone says the PS1 was the first console ever I will bash their brains in with an N64 controller.

Im happy that some games are being resurrected and even upgraded to better. Like mario, starfox and many more. But then again, there are alot old games that are pure utter crap that shouldnt exist and besides, with new games and technology we get more interesting games and more eyecandy aswell.
Btw, capnbubs, you seem to be strictly consentated to your crobo universe and make only those mods that are related to it unlike most of us. Do you plan to do any other mods that are based off something else? And also, +1 for the drawing skill and the imagination.
Do you study somewhere that is related to game making? Or do you learn it by yourself somehow?
And do you plan to make a game about crobos in the future or what would be your type of favorite game? What would you want to create? A 2d shooter like CC or some lvl gaining rpg or maybe a racing game? (Id guess some type of carnage involved game with robots and cyborgs blowing each other to bits and pieces with oh-so-amazing effects.)

0%.
Aslong as you take the right one. But that completely rare on torrents, since people comment on each torrent and tell each other is it worth getting or no. Also a big factor is the filesize.
If its somewhere 3Gb, then go for it. Or if its a super cheesy program that should have billions of features but the filesize says its only under 1Mb, then its a virus. And so far, I havent seen a single one of them. The right ones are way too easy to spot.
Tell me what exactly you want and Ill find you a decent torrent.
