EVENTS:

Hanging onto the truck until they're clear of the mansion, Rosa begins snowsimming by it, while Eigla and Klimt talk. It takes some effort, but she's able to match the vehicle's speed as they circle by the village.

The cranes can no longer be seen. Maybe Pierre did manage to convince the priestess to hide, after all?


The party returns to the road, and drives north for a long time, passing through snow-covered woods, and the wilted remains of what must once have been vast farms. The weather seems to worsen as they go, and eventually Rosa has to act as a snow plow, digging a path for the truck.


By the end of the day, you see a large ravine in the distance, much like the one at the edge of the wastes. Another riveted steel bridge crosses it, though it is in much better condition than the one you'd used before. strange birds nest on the superstructure, looking at the party with piercing eyes.

Peggy: "I'm not sure if it's safe to go on at night... But, I don't really wanna park out in the open, either. What do you lot think?"

EVENTS:

Rosa uses her improved eyesight to examine the birds.

It's hard to focus one them through the snow, but several dozen are perched on the bridge's cables and supports, ranging from smaller, crow-like creatures, to human-sized shapes wrapped in ebony wings. A few of them seem to be fighting over the remains of a large seagull, but most just sit and stare at you.
