The tunnel connects directly to the factory - if the meatblob were to intercept or cut us off, we would see it coming ahead of us.
Even if we do encounter it, it would probably be better to be aware of it than to wait here for it to attack at a disadvantageous time for us. It attacking the village before anyone is aware means it can absorb much more flesh before we can flee."

Re: Nechronica "There are a lot of zombies here - if we have a decent number, we have one placed at every few hundred meters, forming a long chain. Each one within line-of-sight to another. Communication with hand signals would work, and we can quickly get word out from the tunnel and back to the village."

Rosa considers her options. She's... Not sure, how well she'd fit in the truck. She could probably squeeze into the cargo compartment, but her tail would definitely stick out.
The tunnel was three lanes wide, from what she remembers. Turning the truck around might take a little while, but it'd not be impossible.
Eigla starts leaving to go see Pierre, but Rosa grabs her from behind and lifts her off the floor.
Meanwhile, Klimt lets Peggy clean up his wounds and start suturing the larger holes. His limbs have stitched themselves together rather well, due to their tentacular nature, but the core of his body still requires a lot of attention. Emilia spends her time massaging his shoulders and cleaning the sweat off his brow. Not too bad!

If the meatblob is in the tunnel, it will chase us very quickly, and we'll have to run the entire way back. If we don't tire out, we'll immediately have to run out of the village, with the meatblob right behind us. If we do, we're dead.
Add to that the difficulty I'll have of moving quickly on the tunnel road, and how we'd have to spend several days walking down it.
It does not make sense for us to enter the tunnel. It has not been so long that it is suspicious for the plant riders to not have returned yet."
