EVENTS:

Rosa jumps into the stream, while Klimt waits for Eigla to lower him as far as the rope will go, then drops.

Neither landing is at all graceful. Both of them fall face-first into the muck, quickly beggining to sink. The current threatens to drag them under, and the conveyor's paddles slap their feet repeatedly. Emilia's body is nowhere to be seen.

Peggy: "KLIMT! OH GOD, ARE YOU CRAZY?"

EVENTS:

Klimt opens his mouth to speak, but only receives a lungful of liquefied waste. He gags and begins sinking, the conveyor paddles sending him into an uncontrolled spin.

Peggy: "AAAAAAAAA KLIMT GET OUT OF THERE!"


Rosa fares a bit better, her new body shape allowing her to move much more gracefully with the current. She rushes forwards along the river of muck, looking for Emilia, but there is no sign of the Banshee, at least on the surface.

EVENTS:

Klimt manages to barely put his head above the surface, spewing fluid through his mouth and nose. He's not drowning, but he can barely move against the current!

Peggy screams, then quickly slides down the rope, grabbing onto the edge of the conveyor. She crawls beside the river, extending several hands towards him.

Peggy: "GRAB MY HAND, YOU IDIOT! GRAB IT!"



Rosa dives to the bottom, trying to breathe.

Her nose gets clogged with goo. Her mouth slams open, and her lungs fill with the most disgusting liquid she's ever tasted. She can't breathe.

She needs to breathe.

Breathe.


Rosa feels something tear open along her ribs and throat, and a surge of oxygen hits her blood. She surges along the bottom, feeling for anything resembling Emilia.

Bones. Muck. Goo. The walls of the conveyor. Steel paddles. A leg. She touches the leg. It twitches.

Found her!

EVENTS:

Peggy and Klimt stretch, trying to reach one another's hands. Theyre close... So close... EXTREMELY CLOSE!

Klimt is dragged down by the undertow, making Peggy lose her balance. She falls down into the mud with him, trying desperately to keep her head out of the vile muck.

Rosa feels up the leg, finding the very recogniseable contours of a catkini bottom. It's Emilia all right! She tries to pull the body away from the bottom, but it seems to be stuck on something!


Meanwhile, Eigla holds the rope, hoping the others will be able to swim back and climb up it. Curie looks down at the conveyor, then back to Eigla.

Curie: "Situation assessment: Not ideal."

EVENTS:

Klimt manages to prop his feet against a paddle and lift his head above the surface, but can't do the same for Peggy. Her leather poncho, drenched with fluid, weighs her down, and she quickly sinks to the bottom.


Meanwhile, Rosa wraps her hands around Emilia's torso, discovering her other leg is stuck between a metal paddle and the wall. With a sharp tug, she manages to dislodge it, and drags the banshee up.

Breaching the surface, she sees the situation doesn't seem good. Emilia is unconscious, a large, bloody gash on the side of her head, and her foot was almost torn off from scraping against the conveyor's wall. Klimt is struggling to stay on the surface, and Peggy is nowhere to be seen. Worse yet, the current has dragged the group almost all the way to the end of the conveyor, where it enters the southern wing through a wall. How are they going to get back?
