Rosa begins regenerating her pilebunker, but more tentacles rip it off and surge into her open wound, thrashing against her organs and turning her insides into an unpleasant slurry! She continues to shoot and laugh nonstop, but tendrils wrap around her arms and throw off her aim!

Eigla once again attempts to get closer, but the Mud King keeps batting her away! Worse yet, since its attacks are too weak to actually damage her through her armor, she can't use her Crawling Flesh!

Rosa and Eigla suffer 1 Madness. The situation looks dire.

Klimt and Peggy walk into the woods, but don't notice anything abnormal. It's a pleasant afternoon, and there should be plenty of deer around.

Eigla does her best. She grabs her knife and stabs deep into her own chest, once again letting out the chaos within. It explodes outwards in the direction of the Mud King, but it is too late. The creature's tentacles are already wrapped fully around Rosa's torso and arm, and quickly constrict.

Rosa's body explodes like an overripe fruit being crushed in a man's fist. Lungs, bones, bowels and heart and turned into mush by the overwhelming pressure, tearing through her hastily-sutured skin as they slush out onto the contaminated bog. Her Coffin is smashed against her chest, the jagged metal severing one of her arms and piercing into her throat like some bizarre torture implement.

Rosa's aim does not waver for a moment. She shoots and shoots until she can no longer see or think or feel, smiling as she sees her bullets tearing off the monster's bony plating.

That's your chance, Shield.

Together... Invincible.

Her broken body falls to the ground, deathly still.

Eigla grabs the creature's tentacles in her hands, screaming RIP AND TEAR as she pulls them all off in one swift motion. The Mud King writhes and thrashes as she punches its body repeatedly. The slime on its body begins to slough off, and Eigla sees the top of its head is crowned by a circle of jagged bones surrounding a fleshy aperture; A fitting crown for such a King.

Eigla reaches into the Mud King's crown, narrowly avoiding the razor-sharp, twitching bones. Her arm expands and deforms, scouring the monster's insides, searching for her ultimate target.

There it was. Somewhere, deep inside, a distorted, tumorous brain-like sphere. She melded her flesh into it, then pulled out.

The Mud King's mouth tears open as Eigla's hand exits through it, fully containing its beachball-sized core. The creature's body begins to melt and sizzle away, sinking back into the depths from whence it came. The Mud Men stop fighting, slowly falling to their knees as if in horror.

The entire bog starts draining. When it is done, only a large sinkhole remains, the creature's stalk having unplugged it as it died.


Eigla and Rosa take comfort in their victory, and lose 1 Madness!

Eigla's coffin beeps, indicating it is ready to repair her.

EVENTS:

Eigla lovingly cuts out her own parts then regenerates them, using everything she can to repair Rosa's bloody form.

The girl's pelvis is long gone, so the repaired pilebunker fits more like a scorpion tail than a leg. It'll take a lot of Flesh for her to ever be able to walk again. The arm is easier to fix, but still looks rather patchworky.

Rosa's ribcage is, in simple terms, a wreck. Eigla transfers enough organs to keep her functional and allow her to eat, but they're still exposed and bloody. Not even Peggy looks this bad, and that's saying something.

Eigla retracts her crawling flesh, letting go of the Mud Core, then butchers it. The sheer density of the part yields an impressive 4 Flesh, along with enough raw material to craft a Mutation.

Grabbing the loot, she gives a piggyback ride to Rosa as they return home. Something nibbles on her ear.

Rosa: "Heheh. You. Looked. Really. Cool."

Eigla's dead heart beats faster. This... Might not be love, but-

Maybe it's okay. For now.

She loses 1 Madness!




Meanwhile, Klimt and Peggy manage to hunt not one, but two deer! Fistbumping, they load the carcasses onto his back and begin trekking back to the farm - Oh look, there's Rosa and Eigla!

...Except. They're both covered with a thick crust of blood, waste and mud, and Rosa is more like "30% of Rosa", with her body ending abruptly in an open, ruined ribcage with mismatched organs and guts hanging out.
