Mary sighs deeply once again.

Mary: "Thank you. But, still... W-what happened out there? How did you make it out in one piece? Is... Klimt, is he okay?"




Emilia: "Alive?"

She promptly bites her own arm, then lets go of it.

Emilia: "No, not meat. Flesh. Not alive."

She continues to eat rather frantically, stopping only to burp or find the choicest morsels. Small amounts of steam rise from her back, like a warm breath in the wind. Seems like she might be here for quite a while.

Mary: "...Deliver more deer? Deliver them where?"




Meanwhile, Emilia gives Klimt a thumbs up without stopping her feast. Peggy tugs at his kilt.

Peggy: "Hey. Let's go back to the tent, it's chilly out here! Plus, we haven't even had dinner, unlike Miss Crazy over there."

Mary: "...Certainly you don't mean you managed to parley with the wolves, do you? As pleasant as you may be to talk to, I doubt wild beasts would be as charmed as I was."


Meanwhile, Peggy bumbs Klimt with one of her elbows and winks.

Peggy: "Now, were we reeeeeally pretending?~"

She stays outside while he goes into the house to get some food. Except, there is none? None prepared, at least.

Mary looks at him with a start.

Mary: "Oh, are you here for dinner- Oh! Oh dear, with all this commotion, I-I completely forgot to cook anything! Uhm...

Girls, could you two give this old lady a hand and bring some fresh firewood? I-I'll get the ingredients ready. J-just hold on a moment, Klimt dear!"

Rosa and Eigla walk outside, get a pair of axes from the cart, and begin splitting firewood. It certainly is good exercise! In the distance, they see Emilia, face still completely buried in a dead wolf.


Inside, there is a long, pregnant silence as Mary and Klimt look at one another. She is the first to break it, but isn't particularly eloquent.

Mary: "Uhm..."

Her ram, who's lying down beside her, bleats uncomfortably.
