While Rosa sits down in a corner, head buried in her arms, Eigla leaves the house for a moment.

Klimt seems to still be in his tent, cuddling with Baghead. Hmph.

The fog has receded enough that it's probably safe to leave. She removes enough stakes to create a narrow pathway to the fields.



Meanwhile, in the house, Rosa tries to rationalise what just happened.
Mary, who before seemed almost done with her upgrades, opens her chest up again and begins making more modifications, looking down the entire time.

Rosa touches the scratched, darkened silver ring. It feels familiar.

She was not sure where she got it anymore. Someone had given it to her. Someone she knew? No, no, that was not it.
Someone she'd just met. They were very happy that she had it, though. Why? They no longer had the ring, and they didn't know her.
She felt confused every time she thought about it. She also felt very warm, however. There was... A lingering feeling of love, trust and satisfaction in that cheap piece of jewelry.

That, in itself, made it invaluable.



At the tent, Klimt asks Peggy a question.

Klimt: "I wonder what Eigla was getting at earlier."

Peggy: "Hell if I know. Probably trying to poke fun at me. I know she still wants me dead.

But I don't care. I have you. I'm happy like this. Now hold me tighter."

*nuzzle nuzzle*



Meanwhile, Eigla heads to the edge of the woods to chop down more trees. They're just about as large as the ones she'd dealt with the day before, but... Without Rosa, it felt like each one took ten times more effort.

Still, she persevered. One, then two, then three medium-sized trees were felled, their limbs sharpened to a point. A wall of stakes was slowly but surely being formed.


While chopping the fourth tree, Eigla hears a rustle.

Hmm.

Nothing in sight. There's a lot of wind, too, so it was probably just a dry leaf being blown about.

Two minutes later, she pauses suddenly.

There's something right behind her.

Rosa puts the ring on her index finger, the only one still suited for it. The ring fits her perfectly, being firm but still comfortable, like it wasn't even there.
It is almost as if it were made just for her.


Meanwhile, Klimt strokes Peggy's hair.

Klimt: "We can't laze around forever. Would you like to go walking around the fields?"

Peggy: "I would like to kiss you."



At the edge of the forest, Eigla slowly turns around. Five wolves and a Howler, standing in a semicircle around her position. They growl at her, but don't make any moves just yet.

Rosa leaves the house, leaving Mary to her stitching.

Hm. Eigla isn't near the trees you'd felled earlier, or in the garden. Maybe she went to the woods to cut down some more?



Peggy crawls up Klimt's torso until they're face to face.

Peggy: "I don't want something. I want everything. I want you."



Eigla tries not to make any sudden movements and just stares back quizzically, but the wolves are not mollified.
The pack starts barking, while the Howler walks toward her, its huge, toothless jaws distending and revealing a second skull inside its mouth, this time filled with razor-sharp canines.
