Klimt and Eigla rush forwards, the first brandishing his tentacles, the second cutting open her own stomach to let the animated corruption within spew forth in a barrage of entangling flesh. However, they're too far away, and the Biter manages to find an opening and disappear amid the vegetation before Rosa even has a chance to chamber the next round.

Eigla's guts reenter her body disappointedly, and her stomach sews itself shut.

Seems like this hunt didn't quite go as planned.

Rosa check the uneaten meat. Mostly offal and unnapetizing parts, as well as the warts. She doesn't want to mix it with the unaffected parts, so she just grabs a large, non-leaky tumor and carries it in her hands as the group returns home.

As you return to the grasslands, you come across Mary once again. She waves and smiles, approaching.

Mary: "Had a productive day? I see you've hunted some sort of - UHM. W-why are you carrying that?"

She points at the wart Rosa had grabbed earlier, looking somewhat alarmed.

Mary: "It's, uh, it's a mold colony. As in, nonprogrammed mold. Was that a deer? Did any get in your hands? Oh dear. Do you think you'll, uhm, need them again in the foreseeable future?"

EVENTS:

Rosa gently puts down the tumorous growth, while looking at the group's hands. Klimt seems clean, Emilia too, then-

There is a very definite, thin yellow film stuck to the palm of Eigla's hand. Rosa notices the same in her fingertip. It must have gotten under her fingernails while she was handling the wart.


Mary sighs deeply, still looking scared.

Mary: "Okay. Don't move. Stay here, okay? DON'T approach my herd. Promise me you won't. S-set the leather down. Is there meat in there? We, we can make it safe with fire, but it'll need to roast for a while. The pelt has to burn, though. Just- SIT TIGHT, OKAY?"

She rides off as fast as her ram will take her. You'd never seen her this distressed. Is it that serious?

Everyone looks at Peggy. She drops the bundle onto the ground, raising her hands in a plaintive gesture.

Rosa prepares to pilebunk Eigla's hands off, but decides to wait until Mary returns- which the sheep lady does, carrying a lit lantern and a bundle of sticks and firewood.

Mary: "Okay. Let me light this fire- Good, good. Okay. Seems to be hot enough. Now- You two- let me walk away first- Okay. You two, hands in the fire. All the way through the flesh, we can't take any risks. Thief, let them take a good look at you- take off that poncho, there's some splattered on it!"

Peggy: "H-hell no! W-what, you want me to strip naked and set fire to myself? That's crazy!"
