After driving a few blocks away from the Barrens and into the relative safety of Renton's outskirts, you stop on a side street to get some things straightened out. As Bright dismounts and walks over to the car, Vargall finds another of his beloved beer bottles under his seat, and takes a hearty swig.

The elf lady clears her throat and looks at you all apologetically.

"Well yes, he's right! I'm sure that young fellow you took into the building told you all of this already, but my, ah... Acquaintance, Mel Cozi, has prrrrrrobably hired those thugs to geek me? You know, over the uh... Baby? Yeah, he REALLY didn't want his wife to find out, it seems.

So, since you all seem to be, uh, pretty good at this whole murder thing, and considering I'm pretty sure the snively bastard is going to hire more people to come after me...

She pauses, looking down and absentmindedly patting the towel-wrapped infant.

"You could probably off him first, right? I'd compensate you for your trouble, of course. Let's say uh, two K for each of you? Would that be reasonable?"




Allie listens to the conversation with casual interest, then raises her hand to absentmindedly scratch the recent cut over her cheek.

...Hold on a moment. Ghouls *are* contagious, right?

Allie neatly cleans the wound, then closes her eyes and concentrates. She feels her flesh knitting itself back together, until the two parallel gashes across her cheek become faint red lines, then disappear altogether.

She opens her backpack once again, and ogles her prize with satisfaction. The elf lady notices with some aprehension that a new pair of kidneys has joined the two others in the bag.



You notice her pupils narrow as she misunderstands Bright's statement, and momentarily considers the possibility that her very own kidneys might be in danger.
It seems it has finally sunk in she's been travelling with a bunch of stone cold killers.

It is with some trepidation that she reaches into her purse and pulls out her credstick.

"S-sure, here! I-I'll even pay upfront, of course. Professionals of your, uh, caliber, wouldn't expect anything different, right?"
