Re: The Lounge
i dont think youre really the winner here if youre going to hold your knowledge of politics over me like its something impressive im not even a donald trump supporter but the amount of ignorance regarding his actual stances is very annoying. what you read from yellow journalist headlines does not give you a colorful political background at all. i actually would prefer bernie to win, but i dont believe that to be a realistic goal. if it comes down to it, id rather go with a loudmouthed man i can trust than someone whose political confidentiality is going under major review right this very minute, and who relies on the money of very rich interest groups to forward her campaign. donald trump winning could be a possible stepping stone to toning back the importance of money in our political system. he doesn't care about money because he already has it. also jsyk talking about illegal immigrants who have broken the law of the united states does not make trump a racist, nor has he ever said that all mexicans are rapists or whatever inane horseshit people say on fox news

Re: The Lounge
So, this will be off topic (with respect to the currently heated conversation), but I think this will be a good change of pace. The Swedish government wanted to be able to close the Oresund bridge* a while back** to temporarily stop the flow of asylum seekers and immigrants to Sweden because they felt like Sweden couldn't handle any more at the moment. This was shot down by "Lagrådet" which translates to "The law council" which basically checks if a law proposition is legal***. Then a few days later after it became publicly known, they went back and said that it's not a valid law proposition anymore and that they wouldn't press this matter further****. Though as far as I know the government wants to implement an ID-check at the Oresund bridge, which I personally think is a bad idea because of the traffic flow the bridge has.

Re: The Lounge
i don't get it seraph. i thought sweden already lost it's culture while the now muslim majority reigns over.
if government nationalists want to preserve whatever is left, why shouldn't those who rule over their own land be able to close a bridge in their territory?
and are you saying there's really a organization that holds power over what laws come into play? is that anything like that 3 house system in America, because it sounds incredibly different.

I believe that if a society becomes more rich in culture* it accepts other people and cultures more easily thus limiting the effects of discrimination. If some people feel that their culture is "threatened"** they may become aggressive over that their culture is "declining"***. The problem with the current Prime minister of Sweden is that he literally said something along the lines of "My Europe doesn't build walls!"**** in the election and then a while after the election said something along the lines of "It may appear that we have been too naive." and then the law proposition appeared, this is the timeline of the important events in this issue. Natti's explanation was great. The "Lagrådet" holds no real power*****, when they criticize a law proposition, it is because of the law proposition being in conflict with current laws which is a big problem and thus they advice the government to edit the law proposition. Currently the ID-checks prolong train rides to Sweden from Denmark with 10 to 50 minutes. Closing the bridge would also have a big economic impact for the companies operating over the Oresund bridge which would all in all be bad for commerse.
