Gas is very compressible so you probably can carry quite a large mass of gas in your gut. However, your intestines will complain after a while and it will become rather painful, so I wouldn't recommend attempting to carry all that much gas inside you.
The length of a farting event depends largely on two things: the amount of gas expelled and the rate at which it's expelled (which could be modeled as a scalar constant but in reality would probably be some sort of sphincter diameter function).

So I guess the world record of the longest fart would require a lot of technique. Speaking of, I'm gonna google some stuff.
