Who cares about all that, I bought a Raspberry Pi. Also yet more gigabit networking infrastructure. I think I have a more complex network setup at home than most small businesses. Certainly faster, those scrubs use cat5 10/100 bull♥♥♥♥.

Don't forget to put hedgehog quills on the Raspberry Pi, so Sonic will bless it with amazing speeds! Jokes aside, that's some crafty and cool ♥♥♥♥ you got going on.

They're really tiny, really cheap computers. People tend to use them for projects where you need to run a program but don't want the power and space requirements of a desktop/laptop.

So you code something, and then the raspberry pi basically runs the one program and that's it?

People also use them as media streaming devices (think chrome cast and stuff), networking, and a bunch of others. Google "raspberry pi projects" and some neat stuff'll come up.

Excepting the Pi Zero (which I'm pretty sure is just the Pi guys trying to break the world record on the worlds' cheapest computer), they're actually not too shabby as far as performance either. The Pi 2 B, which is the one I got, is a 1GHz dual core with 1GB RAM.
I'm planning to use it as a sort of set-top box, streaming media from my servers to my TV. I sold my laptop which was the last device in my possession that had an HDMI port and wasn't 50lbs, and I don't really need a laptop for anything else because I never go anywhere.

They can actually run a full operating system. Most people use a version of Linux.
