She stands there thinking before the table nearly flips as she makes a sudden jump.

They were able to fend off dragons, witches, leviathans. No one was able to oppose them, either. Until the Third, that is.

Tara: "In short, everything on the battlefield explodes.
In detail, it's almost like an ethereal construct. It can be passed down along the mother's side like magic, but it can also be removed and doesn't require expertise to use if you have it. There are three main components - One produces a massive amount of mana or greatly improves the arcane strength of the user, I'm not sure which. Another that can generate long-range tendril barrages, and the last produces a simple artificial spirit that carries a massive load of mana and releases it in an explosion.
The tendril barrage launches a massive number of telepathic tendrils in whatever direction the user specifies over a massive range, and can be set to flag a point based on target properties. If you set a tendril to make a flag upon contact with a person, you can mark every living thing in a battlefield with near-perfect precision. Then, an artificial spirit is created for each flag, fueled by the arcane or mana booster, and sent down the path of the tendril to the flag. The mana is protected from leeching by the artificial spirit, and the spirit detonates once it reaches its location.
This all happens in an instant. Conquest is one of the few wide-area magic forms that have both brute strength and fast casting. It's also efficient, since a spell is only initiated when it has a 100% chance of hitting. It works for sniping individual targets in a crowd as well, and several Daeli who possess it have been able to use it to cast other spells. Suzanna calls it the ultimate offensive magic - precise, efficient, and doesn't leave any unwanted persisting effects."

An explosive force shoves the table a few feet away, dropping a few books on the ground with Tara now completely covered in sleek black armor with silver detailing.
What you REALLY notice though, is the hundreds of shiny, black metal toothpicks sprouting from distorted air surrounding you. The sword on Tara’s waist now missing its sheath and blade, the place where they should be an area of bent space.
Tara: ”Sorry, my sword’s a little jumpy.”
The floating lines of matter slowly shrink, the sword worn by Tara growing back to its full length.

Hello. I am Kleigg the Negation user, and I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about a structure to our east. A tower that was apparently magically inverted, its heights being buried in the ground, its sub-basements vaulted into the sky.
We have interfaced with the tower mechanisms that are remaining and received indications that a 'casket' (like the one which contains you) should be there. But it isn't. You were extracted from it, we think.

In a large clear display case is the tall rectangular box standing on its 'foot'. The casket is made of some unknown material with what looks to be nodes on its sides that correspond with the ones in the slot in the tower. The headrest of the casket has some padding and what looks to be more nodes.
Curator: "This was recovered from a smuggler's warehouse of artifacts - it's very heavy, heavier than it looks, and is missing what we believe is a power supply. Analysts have dated it to be no more than two hundred years after the corruption, so it's only a little younger than the leviathan in the other room."

He was wondering about the tower as well. It's a tower between Magusalto and Teleiat, or, at least, it's what appears to be a tower. It was inverted apparently, I don't recall how long ago. Anyway, what was once above ground is now below, and my negation using friend, Kleigg, sensed something down below. We investigated and interacted with some construct at what's now the top of the tower, and it mentioned an 'Oubliette' and something about needing a casket.
Rauha: I felt you leave and come back, that was it. In between Teleiat and Magusalto there is supposed to be a palace with a surrounding town. I do not know why it is now only a tower or was flipped upside-down or why there is mention of an 'Oubliette.' It was not like that when I still had a body.
The palace was home to the weapon that destroyed me - perhaps with the last of the leviathans now hiding in the oceans, the palace was inverted so the weapon would not fall in the wrong hands.

Rauha: I do not know much about it - it was something that could conceal itself, had a great deal of arcane and physical strength, and was very agile. It was large - perhaps about the height of a four-tiered building, from what I was able to deduce from attacks that missed and hit. It may have been a large suit of armor, many have been attempted in the early days of construct weapons when there was not yet a way to make them smaller. ____________________

Rauha: Thirds, Fourths, tiers of entities. Most of us are Thirds. Fourths can alter the world in ways Thirds cannot, Fifths can do so more than Fourths. Kaasialas was a Fifth.
