ROLLNADO CAUSE CAVE THINKS I WON'T

caekdaemon - Al-Aris [-]:
Li-Rala: "She needs to wear more clothes..."
Al-Aris: "She's a Succubus, by the seems of her, you know how those people are."
...
Li-Rala: "They worship you as a god, you know."
Hrm. You examine your card bemusedly. Lord of the Lard Pan. Certainly not the title you would've picked, but you're not one to complain about people liking you. Better than fearing you suppose. By the time you finish talking with Li and look up from your card, Linna has finished transporting everyone across the Gorge of Doom. Excellent! Hopefully you won't all have this much trouble on the way back.

Appearance: A big and bulky man that appears to be middle aged, with a full head of black hair and surprisingly dark eyes. He claims to be Middle Eastern in origin, but to an observer he would seem to be a little...pale.

Seraphimo - Dunrim [-]:
Dunrim: "No, no no no that would not do for a energy battery."
You know enough about lithium batteries to know that they don't like being overcharged. Rather explosively.
Li-Rala: "Hey, didn't you mention something about wanting a battery? What about the Sun? It's just a big ball of energy when you get down to it. Why not try and do what a plant does, and turn the sunlight into energy?"
...Huh. That's an idea. Sunlight is definitely energy, and plants seem to do pretty well. You wonder if you would turn green though. Or get fat from storing all the energy inside you.

Appearance: His face is full of soot and he looks a bit pale but otherwise he looks like a normal human. He is a little shorter than the average human and he likes to wear fully protective clothing. His origin is claimed to be somewhere inside Europe though he's not telling where.

TheKebbit - Wassily Nuñez [-]:
You decide to test your Freezing Spray more on the surrounding foliage to get a feel for it. It's not the most forceful of attacks, it probably wouldn't injure someone if hit with it, but instead, the water freezes almost instantly on contact, and it forms a surprisingly thick ice layer, almost an inch thick. Not quite a direct offensive power, but used in a supportive fashion it could be fantastic. You think if you hit someone dead on in the chest with this, their entire torso would get a coat of ice, along with their neck and upper arms.

It seems to stack just fine, the ice layers without any problem, so that's an interesting possibility. Giving the ice a knock with your hand and a push, it seems solid enough. As solid as a big sheet of ice will be at least. You could form rudimentary structures with some perseverance, or patch holes or cracks in existing ones. Though, it's a rough blast of water, certainly not a controlled spray or stream. You would have trouble forming specific shapes. Though, you could easily form, say, a small emergency barricade with a few repeated sprays in one spot.
Might be able to combine that with your Chart actually. Form a small barricade of ice, then extend the land it forms in a line to create a larger piece of cover.

CaveCricket48 - Linna [-]:
You tuck the card away for now. An interesting offer, maybe. Depends on how that Paladin spirit from before acts. Well, you'll deal with it later. For now, work.
You castle with Mikey this time, putting him back on the side of the gorge you all came from, and you on the far side.
Linna: "Alright, another two of you hug!"

The rest of the castling goes uneventfully. No more silly falls or interruptions or knocking over trees, just a double-Castle at a time, and with some effort, everyone's across

Appearance: A young woman that seems a bit thin but stands on a sturdy pair of legs. Her short dark hair is still long enough to nearly cover her eyes that are already concealed behind thick glasses, making it difficult to read her expression.

maart3n - Mikey/Heph [2]:
You let yourself be Castled again by Linna, then wait around a bit while she transports everyone across.

Events:
Once all six of them are across, they begin heading south again, towards the pulse of whatever they're here to collect. They travel for a while, making their way through the woods rather uneventfully, no wolves or gorges this time. The going is a bit hilly and very untamed, but not too difficult to traverse. After another hour or so of walking, the trees begin to thin out a bit, before opening up suddenly into a large, wide clearing populated by several large, gently rolling hills.
More notably, there's a large number of stone totems or statues ringing the clearing, all carved into various animal forms. Large intimidating caricatures of bears, hawks, wolves, foxes maybe, animals of all sorts are standing guard, all looking out away from the clearing.
Linna walks forward to enter it, ready to put this adventure behind them, and -
*donk*
Walks right into something solid. A strange shimmer goes through the air where she hit, and as everyone squints a bit to get a better look, they realize there's something in the air. Some kind of force field around the clearing, going straight up into the air.
Dunrim: "Oh come on, we were so close."
Linna: "It's not a problem. We just need to get through. Then we're all clear."

I like being wrong when it yields results.

"I can't be the only one who sees the "animals" looking away from the courtyard...Li, throw some dirt or a stone onto the top of the shield so we can figure out its dimensions and if it's possible to climb over it."

Take a look at one of the caricatures, examine it, try to find the source of the shield and Decay it.

If it is a wall rather than a dome, getting over becomes rather trivial, though slow - I can build a ramp out of sheet ice, then Disembark and slide to the top of the resulting Land, cast down ice to form a ramp down the other side, then Castle with Linna. Repeat as many times as necessary.

Jokingly attempt to bring one of the totems back to life.

So I will be away for about 10 days starting the 26 of july (tomorrow) so maybe someone will be kind and take control of my character while I'm gone. I will not have any internet connection during the time I am gone so me posting stuff is out of the question.

ARARARARARALL

caekdaemon - Al-Aris [-]:
Al-Aris: "I can't be the only one who sees the "animals" looking away from the courtyard...Li, throw some dirt or a stone onto the top of the shield so we can figure out its dimensions and if it's possible to climb over it."
She obliges while you take a close look at the nearest statue, a bear this one seems to be. It looks hand carved, and rather weathered as well, its edges smoothed and surfaces pockmarked and rough. It was probably set up by the folks buried here, however many years ago that was, before they were actually buried. You look up to see a small fistful of stones sail quite high overhead, and bounce off the barrier. Looks like it extends up quite some ways.
Li-Rala: "We have enough power to blow holes between universes, and here we are, stuck because of an energy shield..."
Al-Aris: "That tends to be bad for the universes, dear. Creative solutions are good as well, not everything can be solved by force."

Appearance: A big and bulky man that appears to be middle aged, with a full head of black hair and surprisingly dark eyes. He claims to be Middle Eastern in origin, but to an observer he would seem to be a little...pale.

Seraphimo - Dunrim [4]:
You approach the forcefield as Linna decides to test its strength, and lay your hand against it. It sort of feels like it's pushing you away, but the feeling lessons when you lesson the pressure from your hand.
Hm. The harder you push, the harder it repels. You try absorbing some of the field's energy, and the area of force field around your hand shimmers, weakening a bit, but quickly restoring itself when you stop draining it.
You then walk to a nearby try, and try applying the energy to it.

The tree trunk explodes. The now unsupported upper section of tree falls to close the recently made gap, then tips over away from the barrier, coming to a crashing halt in the forest. The many animals of the forest, thinking they were finally safe from these loggers from hell, have their false sense of security shattered once more.
Well, that wasn't exactly productive, but it was certainly educational. You can explode things with barrier energy! Neat!

You view the chart for the area, and see that it's mostly Sea around here. The depth varies inside the actual burial grounds, but it's all sea, which is good. Makes navigating easy. The problem, however, is that the barrier doesn't show up. You can see small bits of Land where the statues are standing, but no thin ring of land or altered sea depth around the burial ground. The shields don't seem to be part of the landscape, so maybe that's why they don't show up. Well that's annoying, it would've been nice to just draw a line of Sea through the Land barrier. Sadly not every solution can be so simple.

CaveCricket48 - Linna [1]:
Linna: "This probably won't work, but oh well."
You bring both of your armored arms and shields to bear in front of you, and with all the holy indignant might you can muster, charge full speed at the barrier, a slight holy glow around you as you fill your body with all your might and conviction, an unstoppable force brought to bear against this wall impeding you and your group from your mission, woe betide the fool who thinks this, THIS meager obstacle could stop you!

You bounce off, lose your balance, fall backwards, and hit your head on a rock.

Appearance: A young woman that seems a bit thin but stands on a sturdy pair of legs. Her short dark hair is still long enough to nearly cover her eyes that are already concealed behind thick glasses, making it difficult to read her expression.

maart3n - Mikey/Heph [8]:
Mikey: "Maybe this thing has something to do with the totems. We could try destroying them or something....."
Seems everyone has similar ideas. Linna tries the most obvious method, while Dunrim tries to turn the shield's power against it. Al and Wassily both look for alternate routes, and you...
Want to try to bring it to life. This is a good idea.

You project your Life energy through the shield, towards the nearest totem. It... sort of peters off halfway there. That's a good 30 feet away, it's a long distance to do something like bringi-
...
Did you just see it twitch.
...Yes, it twitched. It's not moving now, but it twitched.
You must get closer.

CrazyMLC - Matt Sterling [-]:
CrazyMLC wrote:
"My name is Matt Sterling, and I wish to become the embodiment of construction. What I need is approval."
"Construction, ooh, I like it. It certainly has promise, and enough wiggle room to expand in nice directions. And approval, hm. Well, unless you want hollow words and head pats, I can't help you much. You'll have to do that on your own, under your own power. That said, I can give you a boost in the right direction. Don't disappoint me, the one you're replacing wasn't very exciting; you look like you'll be different.
I accept."

You suddenly find yourself in the middle of a hilly field. In front of you are six people all staring at you, some of them mouths agape.

Events: As the six make an effort to get through the shield, there's a sudden rumble inside the barrier, and the ground a ways in starts to smoke and crack, glowing with an eerie red light. It then ruptures upwards, and out come a small swarm of bats, followed by a belch of sulfurous smoke and fire, with an accompanying track of the wails of the damned.
Then Johnny pops his head out.
Johnny: "Eyyy! Jus' droppin this one off, gotta go fast, my boys're gettin their asses chewed up out there!"
He reaches down into the hell pit, and bodily throws a person out onto the small hill, then ducks his head back down into the portal. It closes again with a final screech of tormented souls, and then it's gone like it never existed.
Everyone has a bit of trouble not being totally flabbergasted with this. The newcomer seems to be having trouble seeing straight, but gets it back together after a few moments of staring into space.
