Take a breather, check if I've visibly aged.

My character caek :x

Nah kidding, your idea was pretty cool too. I'm in Arizona now, it's far from cold.

Post Re: Tiny Gods: Deux Ex
Between Canada and Terraria I haven't rolled in forever. Let's fix that!

caekdaemon - Al-Aris [-]:
Al-Aris: "There we go! Linna, are you ready? I'd suggest letting Wassily be the first to cross the tree, since he's the fastest."
Linna: "Gimme a few seconds."
You stand back and admire your handiwork. A fine tree felling, well aimed. Your compatriots, ready to cross the bridge safely. The trees, mostly unharmed. All in all, a fine day's work.
You pick a nice tree to lean up against, with Li-Rala leaning up next to you, and watch as the children cross the tree.
...
Children? Hm. Well, they do seem rather young to you.

Appearance: A big and bulky man that appears to be middle aged, with a full head of black hair and surprisingly dark eyes. He claims to be Middle Eastern in origin, but to an observer he would seem to be a little...pale.

Seraphimo - Dunrim [-]:
You head back over to the others, now with Wassily crossing the gorge, and settle in to watch the fun. While you observe, you consider your powers, and making good use of them. Energy, eh. You bet you could make yourself into a sort of battery, storing light, or electricity, or kinetic energy, and releasing it later.
Or.

...What if. Are... you limited to those? To just those very scientific types of energy?

Appearance: His face is full of soot and he looks a bit pale but otherwise he looks like a normal human. He is a little shorter than the average human and he likes to wear fully protective clothing. His origin is claimed to be somewhere inside Europe though he's not telling where.

TheKebbit - Wassily Nuñez [-]:
Al-Aris: "There we go! Linna, are you ready? I'd suggest letting Wassily be the first to cross the tree, since he's the fastest."
Linna: "Gimme a few seconds."
Oh. You're going first. Well, that's... that's fine. Just need to not... fall.
Gulp.
You approach the fallen tree, hoping it doesn't break as you cross. You hop up onto the trunk and activate Seafarer, and... huh.
Really? Hm. What if you...
Yeah, nope. Cool!
So uh, yeah, you can't fall off. With how ridiculously high altitude the Land of the gorge is, Seafarer doesn't even let you step off the log. You're pretty much glued to it. Worries lessened, you make your way across the log confidently, and turn and wave to the others after you've made your way across. Then, everything turns white for a moment, and you find yourself back on the first side, while Linna is over across the gorge. Interesting power, that one.

CaveCricket48 - Linna [7-1=6]:
Al-Aris: "There we go! Linna, are you ready? I'd suggest letting Wassily be the first to cross the tree, since he's the fastest."
Linna: "Gimme a few seconds."
Wassily approaches the log, not waiting for you to rest back up, but thankfully it still takes him a bit to cross the log. As he does, you see him leaning left and right a bit, eventually actually leaning to the side, making him sort of lean over the edge of the log before being pushed back. Just the sort of dumb behavior that gets people dropped into a gorge. Thankfully, he reaches the other side of the gorge without falling to his premature demise. Once he's safely across and waving at you, you Castle with him, and... erk. It's a bit difficult. You're not sure if it's from the distance, or from being tired, or maybe both. Well, it works either way. You switch with Wassily, leaving him back where he started and you on the other side of the gorge.

Appearance: A young woman that seems a bit thin but stands on a sturdy pair of legs. Her short dark hair is still long enough to nearly cover her eyes that are already concealed behind thick glasses, making it difficult to read her expression.

maart3n - Mikey/Heph [-]:
You rest for a bit, letting your strength return after that big burst of life into the tree. Hmm. You wish you had a mirror, you'd like to check to make sure you're not... wrinkly.
Mikey: "Hey uh, Li. You got a compact or anything?"
Li-Rala: "A compact what?"
...
You had forgotten how oblivious these two are.
Mikey: "A mirror. I need to make sure I didn't age myself accidentally just now."
Li-Rala: "Oh! Well... you look fine to me. A little tired, like you've been up all night. But you did just drain a bunch of power. It will probably go away!"
Hrm. Well, you're not 100% convinced, but you'll accept it for now. First thing when you get done out here in the woods, you're getting yourself in front of a mirror.

Paedichorrhea - Matt [-]:
The others make their way across the bridge, then teleport back and switch places and such. Ugh, too much work, they're taking too long.
Look, it's easy, you just need to walk across, it isn't hard. You get up and start walking across, no problem. It's not even a small tree or anyth-
Oh.
You slipped.
And with your power active, nobody sees you go down. Not your teammates, or a certain succubus waiting in the background and watching out for falls.
Well. That sort of bit you in the ass.

*Splash*

You wake up in your bed, having just had an odd dream. Hm, a very odd dream indeed.

Events:
With his powers active, nobody notices Matt try to cross and fall, as Wassily and Linna use their own to get her across safely.
Matt has left the game because of inactivity.

>>>I remember burning the maps with an acetylene torch on the foredeck. The wind shredded them from every direction at once.

"Come along now! We have not even gotten sight of what we need! I can drag Linna back with this seafaring power, if necessary."

"All of you, I am curious - how much can you remember from before this game of gods? Is there anything useful we can take from it?"

"I don't know if hugging will make it possible for you to move two people at once. I mean, two people hugging are still two separate people, even if they're close together, but I don't see a problem with trying."

"I wonder...Hey, Linna, do you think if you ran across the chasm fast enough and created shields beneath you, it would have been possible to cross the chasm without having to fell a tree?"

"Something to try next time we have to cross a gorge, I suppose."

"As for memories...well, I do remember how hard it is to move a globular cluster without flatten-"

"...Remember, we have to pretend to be mortals here. That means no talking about moving galaxies, no talking about blowing a hole into the afterlife or into other universes or anything like that...and especially no talking about time travel or things outside the universe."

"That goes double for actually doing those things, too. The last thing we need is to get in trouble with the locals for tearing a hole into Hell while trying to open a locked door or something."

"Right...right, I suppose there is something that it made me forget after all. Thanks, love. Well...I can't remember how I got here, or why...but I remember Li. That's enough for me."

Cuddle.

"So wait, we were kicked out of a universe before?"

"Don't you remember?"

"Remember...what?"

"Alright. Remember Skyrim? Big land covered in snow most of the time, filled with Nords and it had those talking cat-men? We were thinking of having our honeymoon there one day?"

"Oh, that place! I remember it now. We went questing there together, and you made the farmer's lives so much easier with your power."

"And you killed the Dragonborn."

"He thought you were one of their dragons! He tried to kill you!"

"I know your protective of me...and I love you for it...but you vaporized him."

"Well...you're not innocent, either. You made Alduin cry...I've never seen someone break down so fast."

"Hey, wait a second, where did the other guy go?"

Safely cross the tree, preferably by having Linna castle me across, otherwise by not being a complete idiot.

caekdaemon - Al-Aris [-]:
Linna: "Alright, now two of you hug!"
Al-Aris: "I don't know if hugging will make it possible for you to move two people at once. I mean, two people hugging are still two separate people, even if they're close together, but I don't see a problem with trying."
Li-Rala: "I wonder...Hey, Linna, do you think if you ran across the chasm fast enough and created shields beneath you, it would have been possible to cross the chasm without having to fell a tree? Something to try next time we have to cross a gorge, I suppose!"
Linna: "Maybe with like, the biggest shield ever! I don't think you could stepping stone across them though! Anyway, let's do this!"
Slowly, the world turns white, and a strange compressing sensation comes over you and Li-rala. Must be the-

Everything goes fully white, the compression reaches its heaviest point, and you feel a strange pull in what seems like every direction at once, somehow. Then, it all fades away, and you're on the other side of the gorge.

-switch. Yep, the switch. You and Li-Rala talk a bit while out of earshot of the others. Universes, huh.
Li-Rala: "Hey, wait a second, where did the other guy go?"
Al-Aris: "Hm. Wandered off perhaps."

Appearance: A big and bulky man that appears to be middle aged, with a full head of black hair and surprisingly dark eyes. He claims to be Middle Eastern in origin, but to an observer he would seem to be a little...pale.

Seraphimo - Dunrim [-]:
You look around a bit for any metal or scrap, anything you could potentially use as a battery.
...
You're in the middle of the woods. There's a lot of sticks and rocks. Refined metal, not so much.
Wait. You DO have your smartphone. Not sure how good an idea that is, but worst case scenario, the battery pops. That's actually pretty bad.

Wassily: "Come along now! We have not even gotten sight of what we need! I can drag Linna back with this seafaring power, if necessary."
You think. About your life before this whole gods business. It's... foggy. But you remember an island. A big, solid, metal island, way in the northern seas of ice and spray. One of make by man, not by nature. Though it was man that put it up, it was nature that took it down. A storm, worse than any other, than any that should've been seen there. Waves reaching up to the top of the deck, winds strong enough to blow a man right off.
You're... unsure. Did you come back? Or was that island of steel your grave?

...
You don't know. Not yet. Your memories will return, in time. For now, they can be your strength, what little there may be. You shape the memory, or rather, let the memory take shape, with the help of your power. You are the Seafarer, and none know better the danger the sea presents.

A blast of frigid brine issues forth from your hand, directed towards a nearby tree. The water splashes over the tree's trunk, covering a large portion it while a good amount passes it by or splatters the area, and immediately it freezes over, forming a thick sheath of ice over the tree itself, and a suffocating carpet of frost over a small area of the ground around it. Maybe a bit lacking in direct power, but you doubt there will be anyone quite up to fighting after being hit with that.

Wassily: "All of you, I am curious - how much can you remember from before this game of gods? Is there anything useful we can take from it?"

CaveCricket48 - Linna [-]:
Enough of this yelling across a chasm nonsense. Al and Li hold on to each other, and you lock on to them and start the Castle. It's... a lot less smooth than before. Rather than the smooth switch from before, you have to push to make it work, put your weight into it so to speak. But, it does work. This time, you don't feel yourself taking the position of the others, probably because there are two, but when the light fades, you're back on the first side, and the both of them are on the far side.

Hm. Well, it's possible to switch more than one at once, that's good to know. And not particularly draining, either, unlike your healing. Problem is, it takes a while to initiate. A few seconds at least. Not a feasible move in the heat of battle, though if it's for transporting people, it works fine. Well, as long as they're hugging. You feel like if they were any further apart than pretty much a tight embrace, and it would only swap with one.

Appearance: A young woman that seems a bit thin but stands on a sturdy pair of legs. Her short dark hair is still long enough to nearly cover her eyes that are already concealed behind thick glasses, making it difficult to read her expression.

maart3n - Mikey/Heph [2]:
You decide to cross the bridge on your own. It'll be fine, Wassily got across no problem, you don't need Linna's magic teleporting.
You take the first few steps cautiously while the others busy themselves, and... yeah, this is easy! Not sure what everyone was making a big fuss out of, you could cross this any day of the-
Your foot comes down on a chunk of loose bark, and slips to the side, with all of your weight going down on that leg. You follow the foot off the side quickly.
Huh.
♥♥♥♥.

Events:
Mikey, thinking nothing of the tree and emboldened by Wassily's easy crossing, decides to cross on his own. After less than 5 steps, he loses his footing and manages to slip off the edge of the tree bridge.
Li-Rala sees him as he falls, and shouts in panic. The others notice a moment later, and call out as well. None are fast enough to save him. Then, Mikey bursts into a cloud of pinkish smoke for no apparent reason, and as it blows away among more confused shouting, Mikey can be seen again, now with the collar of his shirt pulled up high behind him. A red-skinned devil behind him, small wings flapping gently, holding him up by the collar, his shirt pinched by two fingers.

Dunrim: "You! The devil sl- uh, succubus! Barkeep? Barmaid!"
Barmaid: "Aww, you remembered? How sweet! I might just eat you up after all~."
She lifts Mikey up, who seems to be in a gentle catatonia, dumbstruck by the close call with death and sudden snatching from its jaws, and brings both of them over to the far side of the gorge. Li-Rala narrows her eyes at the devil ever so subtly and Al-Aris finds something very interesting in the clouds, while the others seem to be unable to take their eyes away from her.
Barmaid: "Heehee, you're cute, you're all so cute. Must be desperate to see me too, the way you all keep taking falls~. Be careful though, two of you already used up your Get Out of Fall Free card. Only three left!"

She gives a gentle hop at the edge of the gorge, causing her to bound over the gap in a single smooth motion, landing gracefully on the other side in front of Linna.
Barmaid: "You especially. My boss lady, she's got an eye on you. We could show you things you've never seen, you know. Power you never considered. Sensations you've never dreamed of~.
Interesting how the easiest change to make is to flip to the polar opposite, mm?"

She leans forward towards Linna, raises a hand to her chest, and reaches into a pocket on her vest, pulling out a coal grey business card with vibrant red patterns running across it. Barmaid then hands the card to Linna and stands back straight up, arms behind her back with a big smile on her face.
Barmaid: "Her card. Remember, door's always open if you're... dissatisfied with your current arrangement."
She gives a smirk and a giggle, then hops backwards and bursts into another heart shaped cloud of pink smoke that blows away on the wind.

Post Re: Tiny Gods: Deux Ex
"She needs to wear more clothes..."

"She's a Succubus, by the seems of her, you know how those people are. Always trying to seduce you one moment, then behead you the next. And that's all it's about...no love, just...quickies."

"...wait a second, how do you know that?"

There was a terrifying silence as she stared at him, as if the entire world had hushed itself in fear of what might happen next.

"Remember that time before we were together? We were adventuring still, but we stumbled on some kind of demonic invasion, but we couldn't use our full power because of collateral damage?"

"Oh, right...I remember that. You snuck in on foot to try and free the prisoners, while I stayed back, aiming an attack."

"Well, then you remember that I stumbled into that Succubus queen. She was wearing some kind of armor that made my weaker attacks teleport into her home dimension, so I couldn't kill her without killing everyone they had captured along with her...so...well, I convinced her to take her armor off -"

"I don't think I want to hear any more of this..."

"Well, let's just say being able to change my bodily proportions up to whatever size I want has its benefits...but you already know that, don't you?"

Li blushed and laughed, her cheeks turning as red as a rose petal...or maybe a fire hydrant.

"Anyway, I got her to disrobe with my stunning good looks, then I turned her to ashes, blew up her home dimension on the backswing and freed all the prisoners so you could swoop in and send everyone home without having to worry about getting anyone hurt. Everyone got what they wanted...except maybe the demons, since they were too busy screaming to take any of their stuff with them when they ran."

"Demons...they always act so tough, then they run away screaming with their little spaded tails between their legs when they realize its us...I wonder why?"

"I guess it's because they're immortal and keep coming back, only to die the same way each and every time. It's like that film here...what is it called? Edge of...something."

"Anyway...I wonder what it says on her business card...if it's anything like yours..."

Sit back and relax while waiting for the rest of the party.

Alaris laughed.

"I've got a business card?"

She reached over and into his pocket...then pulled out a small card and passed it to him.

Alaris - Lord of Reapers, Elemental Lord of Death, The Great Devourer, Lord of the Lard Pan -

"Lord of the Lard Pan? How the hell did I get that title?"

"Well, a few years back we stumbled into that universe where they solved all their conflicts with eating contests...and, well, you won. All of them. I guess it's because you've got an infinite appetite in there,", she said, poking his stomach for emphasis. "It'd make sense. You are Death, after all."

"They worship you as a god, you know."
