"And so it -"
"Wolves! Awwww...so cute and cuddly. Try not to hurt them, there aren't that many left in the world if, you know, those charities about preserving them are any sign of their numbers."

"Rather than forcing a fight, why don't we just group up close, cover our blind spots and simply ignore them? Wolves aren't the kind of animal to pick a fight for no reason, they prefer to attack when they have superior numbers and strength to bring down one target, so if we stick together, they should pass us by for easier food."

"That would work, but it'd need the others to group up, too."

Form up with the group, do not make eye contact with any wolves (they'd consider it a threat) and do not make any fast, sudden movements. Continue to the objective if possible, if not, hurl an orb of decay at the side of the nearest tree in order to make the tree collapse on top of the wolves.

Sounds like trouble... I don't really want to be a part of this. I guess I don't really have a choice though.

Attempt to drain one of the wolves' life force from afar. Giggle like palpatine if successful.

ACTUAL ROLL

caekdaemon - Al-Aris [-]:
Al-Aris: "And so it -"
Lirala: "Wolves! Awwww...so cute and cuddly. Try not to hurt them, there aren't that many left in the world if, you know, those charities about preserving them are any sign of their numbers."
...Wolves? Where? You see no wolves. You're still back at the split with... Well, Linna just took off running and you have no idea where Matt got off to. But it's just you and Lirala here. Oh, maybe she can see further than you right now. Er, somehow. Hm. Oh, and she's off down the right path. You follow along, figuring you'll run into these wolves if you follow.

After a bit of running, you catch up with Linna, and see the others off in the distance, surrounded by, yep, wolves. Suddenly, Linna turns pure white, along with Wassily, and a moment later they turn back to normal, except Linna is now Wassily and Wassily over in the middle of the wolves has become Linna.
Li-Rala: "Rather than forcing a fight, why don't we just group up close, cover our blind spots and simply ignore them? Wolves aren't the kind of animal to pick a fight for no reason, they prefer to attack when they have superior numbers and strength to bring down one target, so if we stick together, they should pass us by for easier food."
Al-Aris: "That would work, but it'd need the others to group up, too."
The two of you, not breaking stride, finish your run over to Linna and Mikey, doubling the group facing the wolves. She was right, they do back off a bit, looking a bit less fierce, but they don't back down.

Appearance: A big and bulky man that appears to be middle aged, with a full head of black hair and surprisingly dark eyes. He claims to be Middle Eastern in origin, but to an observer he would seem to be a little...pale.

Seraphimo - Dunrim [2]:
Dunrim: "I think I've found something!"
You shout down at your teammates below, but considering that Linna just took off running down the right path, you're guessing there's something happening over there. You take a moment to gather your energy, then Rabbit Jump in that direction towards the top of another tree. As you sail through the air, you notice that the tree you picked to jump to is a bit thin. As you grab the uppermost part of its trunk, you realize that it is also very green and flexible.
As it does nothing to stop your flight and you go shooting right past it without managing to grab hold, you realize that this was a bad idea. Then you panic

Dunrim: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-what"
You suddenly realize that you aren't falling anymore. Well, you are going down, but not in the sort of ballistic trajectory you were on a moment ago. This is like a gentle descent, as if you're being lowered to the ground by something.
???: "Hello there, hon."
A voice behind you speaks, startling you out of a momentary trance. Looking over, you see... uh. You see... Uhhhhhhhhhhh...
???: "My eyes may be up here, but don't let that stop you."
A devil. Another one. Like the ones from before that Johnny summoned. Bellhop and Butler. This one's rather... sexy. A thin girl with bright red skin, coal black hair in a bob cut, and curves in all the right places, wearing a rather short pair of leather biker shorts and a matching leather vest, along with a spiked collar and wristbands. She has a small pair of shiny black horns poking out from her forehead, barely nubs, and a petite pair of wings adorn her back.
Barmaid: "Hi there, I'm Barmaid. Johnny told me to keep a bit of an eye on you all. Looks like you have your eye on me though~."
She gently lowers the two of you to the ground, you splayed prone in the air and her lounging back in midair on an imaginary couch, almost giving a tantalizing view of her-
Barmaid: "Much as I'd love to play, I am on the clock here, so I'll have to ask you to keep your wandering eyes under control. Johnny would get maaaaad if his best little Succubus broke the rules on his watch."
You start, not even aware that you were staring at her... ahem. Yes. Professionalism.
Barmaid: "Well, that's your one free fall. I wouldn't try it again unless you want to stain the floor red, hon. Though, ring me up later if you ever feel like falling in a different way~."

And with that, she bursts into a puff of pink tinged smoke that quickly curls into the shape of a heart before getting blown away by the wind.
Succubus indeed. Goodness.

Appearance: His face is full of soot and he looks a bit pale but otherwise he looks like a normal human. He is a little shorter than the average human and he likes to wear fully protective clothing. His origin is claimed to be somewhere inside Europe though he's not telling where.

TheKebbit - Wassily Nuñez [7]:
You freeze upon seeing the wolves, your whole body tensing up and your heart racing as you instantly drop into fight for flight. You will yourself to keep calm, and slowly draw your flare gun while your eyes dart along the ground for a stick big enough to be a weapon. There's one a few feet away, but the wolves would definitely attack if you were to go for it. Then, Mikey throws up an arm at one of the wolves to use his power, and they attack in response anyway.
You dash towards the stick, as 3 wolves dash at you, and you let loose the flare in the direction of the wolves. You hear a yelp that confirms your flare hit, unable to see yourself as your attention is solely on the only nearby weapon. You hit the ground in a roll, grabbing the branch, and as the wolves leap towards you, you-
"Castle!"
You suddenly see nothing but white, then you see... no wolves. The sound of fighting behind you makes you spin around, and somehow, 50 feet off in the distance, there is Linna and Heph in the midst of all the wolves.

Appearance: A square man in a heavily starched uniform - white, blue, and yellow, battered radio and a flare gun hanging from his belt in a plastic crate. His face is creased with lines of worry. He bears papers and codes of many navies, corporate and scientific contracts, stamped, sealed, filed as paid.

CaveCricket48 - Linna [-]:
Linna: "It's annoying, and-"
Danger. Specifically, your teammates are in it.
Linna: "My Paladin Senses are tingling, trouble's up ahead."
You grip the staff tight in one hand while materializing a shield on each arm, and dash off to the right where Wassily and Heph headed. ♥♥♥♥. Annoying paladin spirit or not, you let your teammates get off all alone and in trouble. Can't let that happen again.
Your feet pound the grassy soil as you sprint through the forest, dodging trees as you go, and after a long half minute of running, you see Wassily and Heph off in the distance, surrounded by wolves.

♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥. They're moving in. They're attacking. Wassily shoots a flare and dives to the side. You're not going to make it. ♥♥♥♥.
They're too close to the wolves, and you're too far.
Or... both. Ah. So that's what the spirit was talking about.
Linna: "Fine you damn ghost. You want me to use my shields, HERE YOU GO, I'M USING EM!"
"Castle!"
Your vision suddenly turns white, and you feel a pull on your entire body. Instinctively, you shift your arms, positioning your shields in front of you as the white fades away.
*CLUNK* *DONK*
You're in front of the wolves, and two of them just rammed face first into your raised shields. More importantly, you know that Wassily is safe, nowhere near the wolves anymore.

Appearance: A young woman that seems a bit thin but stands on a sturdy pair of legs. Her short dark hair is still long enough to nearly cover her eyes that are already concealed behind thick glasses, making it difficult to read her expression.

maart3n - Mikey/Heph [4]:
Mikey: "Nope, nope nope nope, ♥♥♥♥ this. Endangered species my ass, there's one of me and twelve of them."
You quickly fling your hand towards one of the wolves, and attempt to Wither it. The wolf does notice something's wrong, and staggers for a moment, before weakly standing straight again. Meanwhile, its two companions dash forward at your sudden movement and bite at you. One sinks its teeth into your left forearm, the other grabbing your right leg. Well, it worked. However, you did not fully consider the consequences of your actions and GOD DAMMIT GET OFF YOU STUPID HOUNDS

Paedichorrhea - Matt [-]:
Matt: "Sounds like trouble... I don't really want to be a part of this. I guess I don't really have a choice though."
Keeping your Head Down active, you drop the squirrel and head towards where the others went, off to fight wolves you suppose. Your powers aren't really suited to fighting, but maybe you could like... sneak up behind them, smack one, scare them off.
You make your way through the woods, not particularly rushing, and eventually see Wassily on the ground with a good sized branch. You assume the others are nearby, and a quick look around finds you them, off a ways even further, and with a bunch of wolves around them.

Events:
Wassily is about 50 feet away from the wolves, Matt is about 100 feet away from the wolves, everyone else is in the middle of the group of wolves.

"Sorry about this, love."

Decay the side of the nearest tree so that it falls on the wolves.

But if that isn't viable...

Do a large show of force - barrage the wolves with small, rapid attacks - to drive fear into their hearts and force them into retreat.

> Form gauntlets and greaves, Castle with Mikey/Heph. Keep my shields in my previous position so they're picked up by Meph, bring my gauntlets and greaves with me so my limbs stay a little more intact from the wolves that will be gnawing on them.

Proceed to drop the two wolves into the ground.

Use Wither on the wolf on my arm while punching it repeatedly.
Use language not suitable for usage within an 2000 mile radius of children.

Going into the next two weeks I will probably be unable to fully participate in this RTD.

I'm on a military base to train for an international academic event. They will be confiscating all electronics in two hours. I may be able to make one or two posts from a terminal, but that's it.

Rollcarena. I'll have Kebb be nonspecific for a bit.
Or if anyone wants to action for him, be my guest.

caekdaemon - Al-Aris [10]:
Al-Aris: "Sorry about this, love."
Before Li-Rala can object, you send a sharp flash of Decay Energy at the base of a tree to the side of the wolves. Just as you imagined, it carves through the wood like a hot knife through butter, releasing dust as the decay energy devours the tree while simultaneously consuming itself. You stand back and wait, satisfied, as a conspicuous lack of anything happening appears before you.
Then there's a crack.
And another. And the cracks grow in number, becoming a constant, thundering creak as the massive tree tilts over towards the wolves. Most of the wolves realize the danger, hearing the very loud sound of the falling tree, and vacate the area. The wolf that Mikey Withered earlier was not so quick to react.
Everyone looks away as the only wolf not able to get out of the way is unfortunate enough to be directly under the falling tree. Next to you, Li-Rala gives a small whimper of sadness, somewhat for the tree, mostly for the wolf.

Appearance: A big and bulky man that appears to be middle aged, with a full head of black hair and surprisingly dark eyes. He claims to be Middle Eastern in origin, but to an observer he would seem to be a little...pale.

Seraphimo - Dunrim [-]:
Dunrim: "That went worse than expected, I should be more careful with which trees I jump to."
Making sure that you only aim for thick, sturdy branches, you start hopping back up the tree, and it takes much less time now that you're more experienced with the Rabbit Jump. Wolves? Uh, you don't know of any wolves, but you could probably steal some kinetic energy pretty easily. Slow them down nicely, or maybe stop them entirely.

Appearance: His face is full of soot and he looks a bit pale but otherwise he looks like a normal human. He is a little shorter than the average human and he likes to wear fully protective clothing. His origin is claimed to be somewhere inside Europe though he's not telling where.

TheKebbit - Wassily Nuñez [-]:
Finding yourself momentarily free from enemies breathing down your neck, you check your ammunition for the flare gun, and find a few flares in your various pockets. Reloading the gun, you stalk over towards the group, trying to move quickly, but not quickly enough to draw much attention from the wolves. No particularly good beating sticks on the way over, sadly.
Then you hear a tree creak.

CaveCricket48 - Linna [9]:
One down. Next, you activate Castle again, this time on Meph, and as the white overtakes you again, you release the shields in your hands and let your hands move to where Mikey's were, in the jaws of a wolf. One on your calf too, but a quick Greave solves that problem quite easily. In another flash of white, the wolves suddenly go from gnawing on your teammate happily to wondering why their food tastes like metal.
You don't give them much time to wonder though, and slam your left arm down to the ground, bringing the attached wolf with it, and your right fist down on the head of the wolf clamped onto your leg. The sudden impact and loss of grip shocks both of them, and with a yipe both release you and scramble away. As the greave on your leg fades away, you hear a creak from a falling tree.

Appearance: A young woman that seems a bit thin but stands on a sturdy pair of legs. Her short dark hair is still long enough to nearly cover her eyes that are already concealed behind thick glasses, making it difficult to read her expression.

maart3n - Mikey/Heph [3]:
You give the wolf on your arm a Wither as well, but between Withering a different wolf already and having two wolves biting you, it's hard to concentrate on your powers. Thankfully, you don't have to, as suddenly everything goes white and you find your arms shifting to your sides, as if they were meant to be in that position. Then, your hands find purchase on two handles, and suddenly, you're on the other side of the group, holding two shields, defending from two stunned wolves.
Then, you hear a tree crack.

Paedichorrhea - Matt [-]:
You're... a bit too far away to distract the wolves. Also, they're preoccupied with attacking the people they CAN see, not sniffing at a magic floating stick that smells suspiciously like a person. You head over towards the others anyway at a decent run, maybe once you're over there you can like, stab one in the eye. Ooh, actually, that might not be wise with the others fighting, what if they don't notice you and attack when you're in the way...
While you consider this, not stopping your run over, you hear a tree crack.

Events:
With the felling of the massive tree, the wolves are all thoroughly spooked, and none of them any longer have any will to hunt such troublesome prey. The still standing wolves take off into the woods, with the injured ones running after, a bit slower. A few tense minutes later, none of the wolves come back, and it's all quiet. Except for Mikeph swearing from having two large bite wounds, and Li-Rala tutting over the loss of the crushed wolf and its crusher.

"I'm sorry about what I had to do, Li, but this way, nothing else has to die."
"I know, I know..."
Give her a comforting hug. Then inspect the area, make sure we're not about to get jumped and make sure the wolf beneath the tree is actually dead and not suffering needlessly.
