Roll 115
The world as the players know it:
(All players are at Vranhal except Vandolf, who is at Imum)
Name: John Freemaneth (TorrentHKU) Race: Human ____________________
You and Kleigg leg it away from the fight and up a nearby hill as shockwaves pelt your back, not enough to cause serious injury but enough to throw off your balance here and there.
Once the two of you make it, you turn to see the battle. The combatants leap away from each other while Lucida aims his sword at the lord and lupus duo. The lord lands behind the lupus who quickly slams his dual axes together back to back, the blades forming a large shield just in time as a blast of white flame roars from Lucida. The surge of heat and light rams into the axe-shield and deflects off to the sides, quickly ending as Lucida makes to dodge a powerful kinetic bolt that makes a crater of the ground where he was standing.
You now think that the high ground was a mistake as a fist-sized rock whizzes past your head, moving fast enough and close enough to flick the hair out of your face. ____________________

Kyeltziv dashes through the fields, finding a wide depression to take cover. Miimas dives in soon after, followed by you and the Enforcer as shockwaves tear through the air above.
The edges of the depression rise a foot higher and seem to spit out the grass, forming into solid stone that provides a bit more cover.
Miimas: ”Couldn’t they have at least waited for us to leave before they started blowing the place up? Also, what’s Torrent?”
Green-Grey Enforcer: ”The fancy polearm the lord’s using. The Disaster weapon, Torrential Spear.”
You’re keeping your head down so you can’t see what’s going on, but it sounds like the three are doing their best to reduce the opposition to ground meat and scrap metal. Or whatever Lucida’s body is made of. ____________________
Skills: (Magic) -(Spirit) --(Mana) ---Deposit (Discharge a select amount of mana into a source that is in contact) -(Electric) --(Telepathy) (Skills ignore Evasion and do not consume Mana) ---Message (Sends a telepathic message to a target/multiple targets) (does not consume AP) ---Receive (Picks up on thoughts if people are thinking hard enough) (does not consume AP) ---Trace (Find the source of a tendril from an active spell that uses one) ---Proxy (Create a fake mind at a specified location that you can direct to use telepathy) ---Mental Security (Strengthen your defense against Telepathy) (Inflicts Mind Guard = Arcane) ---Analyze (Degrading Condition) (Probe the target's thoughts to discover its behavior and stats) (+Evasion +Aim against target = Arcane - target_Will) ---Mind Control (Force the target to perform an action) (Arcane must be higher than target's Will) -(Thermic) --(Fire) ---Heat (Direct Magic) (Warm up a target, burning it with enough energy) (Inflicts Burn = Arcane + Mana) --(Ice) ---Freeze (Cool down a target, freezing it with enough energy) (Consumes 2x AP) (Inflicts Freeze = Arcane + Mana) -(Pure) --(Light) ---Illuminate (Create light, blinding a target if strong enough) (Inflicts Blind = Arcane + Mana)
-Flight (Capable of sustained flight. It takes 1 AP to take off [but not land]. Stops Stamina regen during flight, drains 1 stamina at the end of every roll. User specifies Altitude: If user is stumbled while in flight, takes Trauma equal to Altitude) (+Evasion = Altitude) Passives: Strength: 1 Arcane: 12 Aim: 6 Evasion: 7 Will: 4 Speed: 2
-Mind Guard (+1 Telepathy Resistance) -Multiprocessing (Grants a separate pool of AP for Telepathic magic)
There aren’t any buildings nearby save for the walls - just lots of grass, and farms and cottages a fair distance away. You take flight anyways, and find it to be a horrible idea as a shockwave roars through the air and slams into your widespread, delicate wings, shattering the bones and letting you fall back down into the tall grass. By now the others have fled some distance and the Enforcer’s wall is crumbling, so you keep yourself prone to avoid the flying debris and kinetic waves. ____________________
Skills: (Magic) -(Electric) --(Lightning) (Aim of skills is increased 50%) ---Shocking Touch (Electrify a target within arm’s reach) (Inflicts Electrocution = [Arcane + Mana] * 1.5) ---Lightning Bolt (Strike a ranged target with a lightning bolt) (Inflicts Electrocution = Arcane + Mana) ---Chain Lightning (Hit multiple targets with damage evenly distributed) (Inflicts Total Electrocution = Arcane + Mana)
-Flight (Capable of sustained flight. It takes 1 AP to take off [but not land]. Stops Stamina regen during flight, drains 1 stamina at the end of every roll. User specifies Altitude: If user is stumbled while in flight, takes Trauma equal to Altitude) (+Evasion = Altitude)
You power up your limbs and leg it away from the three fighters. Running through the fields, you find a wide depression and take cover, hoping to avoid any flying debris. Miimas dives in beside with you soon after, followed by P’orihc and the Enforcer as shockwaves tear through the air above.
The edges of the depression rise a foot higher and seem to spit out the grass, forming into solid stone that provides a bit more cover.
Miimas: ”Couldn’t they have at least waited for us to leave before they started blowing the place up? Also, what’s Torrent?”

Skills: (Magic) -(Spirit) --(Entity) ---Meditation (Relaxes and strengthens your soul, resisting outside spirits) (Inflicts Inner Peace = Arcane + Mana) ---Spirit Channel (Let a spirit use your body to perform an action) (Consumes AP for spirit actions) -(Kinetic) --(Fortification) (Mana is only drained when abilities are disturbed) ---Power Flow (Single Turn Condition) (Fortify your bones and strengthen their movements with kinetics) (+Strength = Arcane + Mana) ---Agility Flow (Single Turn Condition) (Fortify your bones and accelerate their movements with kinetics) (+Evasion = Arcane + Mana)
-Sixth Sense (Can passively detect magic that would otherwise be unnoticeable without active detection or a visual cue) -Berserker (Grants a separate pool of AP for melee attacks) -Acrobat (Passive) (Grants a separate pool of AP for evasion) -Inner Peace (+5 Spirit Magic Resistance)
You yell to the guards, asking if there are any bandits with a bounty on their heads.
Guard: ”There’re some bandits roaming around the area in between here and Vranhal, pretty sure there’s a bounty on ‘em.”
You head off for Vranhal after, keeping an eye out for any bandit that survived the camp attack. While you don’t see any, you do find a slight parting in the grass as you travel. Taking a closer look, it appears that something crumpled the grass as it moved, leaving a faint trail to the south.
Do you follow the trail, or continue towards Vranhal? ____________________
-Momentum (Passive) (Keep yourself moving, increasing damage with each attack) (Buff ends when you fail to attack in a turn or are blocked or stumbled) (+Damage = 1d6 per attack , Max total +Damage = 2 * Strength) -Critical Shot (Increases damage by extra Aim if initial damage to target is greater than 0) -Berserker (Grants a separate pool of AP for melee attacks)
Skills: -Stabilize (Spend the extra energy to hold still, increasing Aim for the next attack) (+Aim = Stamina) -Flight (Capable of sustained flight. It takes 1 AP to take off [but not land]. Stops Stamina regen during flight, drains 1 stamina at the end of every roll. User specifies Altitude: If user is stumbled while in flight, takes Trauma equal to Altitude) (+Evasion = Altitude)
Skills: (Magic) -(Pure) --(Light) ---Accelerated Repair (Speed up the body’s natural healing process on a target, clearing conditions) (Turns given = Arcane + Mana)

Re: Ad Infidium (Roll 115)
There’s a pause in the fighting. The people smart enough to take cover peek out, and the other ones who decided to take exposed high ground already have a great view.
The lupus’s dual axes are glowing a cherry red on their blades, though he barely acknowledges the fact that the weapons set the grass they touch on fire. Lucida seems to consider attacking again, but instead lets out a flash of light and disappears.
Lord of Vranhal: ”I’ve heard the short version of what’s going on from the captain. Any of you have anything to add?”

Did someone say optional quest? > Follow the trail. Enable automatic dodging.

"It was explicitly only attacking people who tried to stop it back at Esthen. People are probably in no terrible danger as long as they run and don't have a Disaster in their hands."

"Yes, you are right. Though, we still haven't found out what Lucida is truly doing, and this might complicate matters further, since it turns out that some of this weapons are traitors. And why traitors? What could have they done?"

"Alternatively, they took two sides of a conflict. Or it's a personal vendetta. Or Torrent ate Lucida's lunch one time. I'm not ready to call anyone a traitor or the villain until I hear and see both sides of the story."
