league of legends is literally the worst game ever

League is objectively a poorly designed engine/client but somehow is also the best from sheer popularity?
DoTA is a well designed game but I seriously get easily frustrated from the amount of ridiculous abilities with 5 second stuns and 3.2 second taunts and other ludicrous effects.
(Not serious about DoTA having no counterplay, lots of items to keep abilities in check cough bkb cough)

LoL is popular like WoW is popular: a bunch of people played it because it was one of the only names in town and then other people joined because there were people there, and the downsides are not bad enough to drive people away.

Well one of the big downsides for LoL is the people, so take that how you will.

I actually really do think Starcraft sucks, I prefer the unit tactics of something like men of war, or the rolling kill-ball tactics of sup com.

I actually prefer Heroes of the Storm over Dota and LoL, but I don't like pick up groups so I don't play much without my brother :p

i have 787 hours in dota and i will tell you while it is a well designed and balanced game it is not necessarily a fun one
dota is like chess, its all about strategy
its also boring, because you spend a lot of your time being locked down in some way or another
the community in dota is also honestly much worse than the league community, anyone who says otherwise has no idea what theyre talking about. ive played a fair deal of both and i can tell you that the single biggest point of contention in league of legends is who calls what lane first. flaming is worse in dota. dota also has way more ways for your teammates to actively grief you other than calling you gay and a loser.
the single greatest thing about league over dota though is that i actually play with people who speak english. unlike valve, riot somehow manages to make english the predominant language on an english server. what a ♥♥♥♥ crazy idea, right.

other than all that though its really just down to personal preference. the market system in league is dumb but the core games themselves are largely different. its like cod vs bf. everyone agrees that bf is the more "sophisticated" game, and cod has an awful community, but both games are fun for different reasons. im beyond the point of shitting on people for playing call of duty, its just whether or not they wont shut up about it.

also, if youre one of those people that say all mobas are objectively bad, please grow up
