The world as the players know it:
(All players are in Esthen)
Name: John Freemaneth (TorrentHKU) Race: Human ____________________
Ki’stha: "We've all been privy to a lot of information here. Not only that, but we're ready to assist with damage control if you require us."
John: "Huh. Alright. Well, we got to town, our Nullifier being a natural trouble magnet managed to get himself to the temple pretty quickly. He told them he was a Nullifier and could help, and then Vakaumus gave him a crash course in nullifying and restraining Lucida. Then, after deciding that was sufficient, they went to the anti-magic chamber where Lucida was, turned the defenses off while our Nullifier cranked up his own anti-magic, and took Lucida. He tested out its power a bit, and that ended with a giant hole melted in the wall of the chamber. Then, Lucida went on a minor rampage, broke into the construct storage, didn't find the "gray one" it was looking for, killed a few people that tried to stop it, and went back outside. A bunch of mages had gathered to try and stop Lucida, but well, one powerful blinding and a bunch of twitchy mages with spells ready to fire later... Yeah. Lots of friendly fire, but not much killing from Lucida itself. It explicitly stated that anyone who didn't get in its way wouldn't be touched actually. And then it ran off to who knows where, most of us were too blinded to see it. Then after the blind faded a bit, we gathered up to get some answers from Vakaumus ourselves, yelled at him a bit, and then you all showed up."

Re: Ad Infidium (Roll 97)
It is early dawn, and the party members find themselves in a large office located in one of the buildings on the Second’s grounds in Esthen, with mentioned grounds being a fair bit larger than originally thought. Chairs have been provided for the party to sit, and across from them is a middle-aged man behind a desk, bearing a roughly shaven face and short dark hair.
The man was introduced as “Second of Caelum, Internal Enforcement Branch, Director Alphonse Toumari,” and the three Enforcers present are the remnants of Enforcement squads 70 and 71. The party just finished reiterating the information they have as well as asking their questions.
Alphonse: ”I’ll start with a little history, it’ll explain a lot more than simply answering questions. The First of Caelum used to be the only Caelum sect, and was simply called Caelum. About two thousand years ago, a fiery object fell from the sky and landed in the earth. Inside there were three young girls, all unharmed. Some of Caelum called the girls the Daughters of Caelus, others did not believe the girls were related to Caelus. The believers split off and formed a sect of Caelum, the Second. In ancient text, the girls were called Takoa, Katsoa, and Palvoa, but there was a name change or something soon after their arrival and they were then known as Kamilla, Ekaterina (slowly changed to to Katherine), and Daelita.
The Daughters of Caelus were not completely human, which is why we the Second believed them to have descended from Caelus. They did not age past the prime of their youth and all three were extremely skilled in magic. Daelita is the mother of the bloodline that shares her name, the Daeli. She died a long while ago. Katherine was called the scholar, described as being extremely intelligent. She disappeared without a trace before Daelita died
Kamilla was the weaponmaster. She created scores of powerful weapons, with her most well-known being the Disaster, Chaos, and Ultima series.
There are seven known Disaster weapons, two Chaos, and one Ultima, though there is evidence of work on a second Ultima before Kamilla vanished.
Lucida is one of the Chaos weapons, a sword that commands Light magic. The other Chaos weapon is Atra, which commands Dark magic. The Ultima weapon that exists is usually called Ultima since it is the only known one in its series, and is named Riehua. Its powers have never been seen, but it is written that it can cause magic corruption to occur.
Riehua is described as a gray greatsword in text, it is possible that that is what Lucida is seeking.”
Alphonse takes a drink from a mug before continuing.
Alphonse: ”Now, as to why Lucida was in containment, the answer is for a countermeasure against Atra. When the war between the Daeli and the Third of Caelum started, no one took it very seriously - the Third was the smallest sect of Caelum, and the Daeli spanned across a great number of states. People saw the war as a battle between a lion and a mouse. However, the Third proved to be extremely capable, and by the time the war ended, the Third had technically lost but the Daeli were weakened enough that their power over land and people disintegrated soon after. The Second feared that the remnants of the Third would get a hold of Atra, which was in the possession of the Daeli, and use it to off the Second. That led to the hunt for Lucida.
Now, the messy part - this ‘sentience’ thing. Somewhere between the creation of the Disaster, Chaos, and Ultima weapons, and before the formation of the Third, there was a magic spell performed on a global scale by an unknown party or individual. The spell targeted constructs and implanted a sequence in them that caused the construct to absorb the spirit of the construct’s user if the user was to die while operating said construct. Only constructs complex enough were able to support the sequence, and Kamilla’s weapons qualified. When the Second began its search for Lucida, there was no indication at the time that Lucida contained a spirit, and we received no information that Lucida became spirited. That is, until it escaped hours ago.
Next, what’s going to happen to Vakaumus. After his trial, we obtain all the information that he knows, by force if necessary. If he is found to have withheld vital information from the Second, he will be executed. If not, his mind will be wiped of all information regarding the Second’s operations and then we throw him out.”
He takes another sip from his mug.
Alphonse: ”Have I missed anything? Any other questions?”

Pretty much. Same as how I knew how to go to Esthen instead of buffing around in that other town for a few turns finding out where you guys had gone to. Also nobody else was speaking up.

"Huh. Well, Vakaumus mentioned the idea of using Lucida as a back up for his words against Vranhal. He needed Kleigg, our nullifier, to wield it, in order to have something powerful enough to make Vranhal consider what he would propose. Also, some time ago, mages from Vranhal tried to imprison Kleigg for his monastic interests, and shortly after they were brutally slaughtered by a single, highly skilled mage, who notably used telepathic invisibility and strong fire spells."

Re: Ad Infidium (Roll 98)
Roll 98 (Individual player rolls not shown but conditions have been updated accordingly)
Kleigg: "What could be the worst-case scenario if Lucida contacts Ultima? Is there any way a third party could reason with it or stall it somehow with mimic swords? Of course, that would depend on if the construct has a true inbuilt magic sense."
Alphonse: ”Worst-case scenario if Lucida finds Ultima, they pair up and go on a rampage, I guess. Though, from the information we received from witnesses and what you guys shared, Lucida did not attack anyone who stayed out of its way. There was even someone in the construct storage facility that Lucida let live because the man didn’t put up any opposition, so I don’t think causing mayhem is its intention.
Reasoning with Lucida, I suppose that is a possibility if it is truly sentient. Stalling it with mimic swords doesn’t seem like a viable tactic, we don’t have anyone here who knows precisely what Ultima looks like to make a good replica. Lucida referred to Ultima as ‘the gray one’ and not ‘Ultima’ or ‘Riehua,’ implying that it saw it in person. Maybe if you guys busted our master constructor out of a chirop prison we could try it.”
One of the Enforcers turns to look at him.
Alphonse: ”That was a joke.”
John: "What are the signs that a weapon is spirited? Could it really have just hidden it from scrutiny by just... not talking?"
Alphonse: ”That’s what I’ve been wondering as well. Vakaumus was responsible for Lucida’s capture and containment, and he was required to provide status updates to higher command until Lucida was secure. Information was not shared with Internal Enforcement, but I have men digging through his office as we speak. It was either known that Lucida was spirited and Vakaumus refrained from revealing that bit of information, or Lucida was able to keep quiet and hide its nature.
Though, considering that Vakaumus wished to recruit a negation mage to use Lucida, I assume that he knew it was spirited to begin with.”
P’orihc: "Huh.
At the mention of “telepathic invisibility,” the three Enforcers and Alphonse stare at P’orihc with a serious expression. One of the Enforcers slightly raises his hand, holding it up for a few seconds before letting it drop.
Alphonse: ”Telepathic invisibility, I knew one guy who was capable of that. I hear the lord of Vranhal is still trying to scrub his blood off of her manor’s ceiling. Seemed like a nice guy, except when he wasn’t invisible he had this weird thing where he’d telepathically whisper to everyone around him. Considering he returned home in several pieces I think it’s safe to say he’s dead, and from what you’re telling me, we have another telepath running about that has the same ability.”
He rests his face in his hand and taps on the desk with the other.
Alphonse: ”What in the blazes is going on.”
Enforcer: ”What if it’s Metus?”
Alphonse: ”Not funny.”
Enforcer: ”That wasn’t a joke. Sir.”
Alphonse sits back upright and claps his hands together, addressing the party again.
Alphonse: ”Alright, let’s worry about one thing at a time. Our priority one is finding Lucida and making sure it isn’t going to blow something up, which means preventing it from finding Ultima. Lucida doesn’t know where Ultima is, and the Second doesn’t know where Ultima is. Esthen doesn’t, the Lupus don’t, but Vranhal and the Chirop might. If we assume Lucida knows what we know, then it would probably be headed to Vranhal in search of information. Which, in Vranhal’s perspective, a super weapon coming towards you from the direction of your enemy could be seen as an act of war. ♥♥♥♥.”
The director turns to the Enforcers.
Alphonse: ”Go tell squad Seventy Four to head towards Vranhal in search of Lucida immediately, you three take over keeping an eye on Vakaumus. Tell them to not take offensive action unless absolutely necessary, just try to talk it out of going to Vranhal. If Lucida makes it there, inform Vranhal that this is NOT an attack from the Second or Esthen. Go!”
Enforcers: ”Yes sir!”
The Enforcers dash out of the room.
Alphonse: ”I have a feeling things are about to go horribly wrong.”

Ki’stha: "Surely they know what Lucida is at Vranhal? They wouldn't assume it's an attack from here if they did."
Alphonse: ”Not sure what you’re saying, they know it’s a really powerful weapon. Throw in the fact that it’s coming from this city, and the fact that we’re not exactly on good terms with Vranhal, it’s probably not going to look like anything but a threat.”
John: "Do you think Vranhal would help Lucida? It probably won't take long to realize it isn't an attacker, unless it actually starts attacking them, so once they figure it out do you think they would ally themselves?"
Alphonse: ”Maybe. That would be the second best outcome. First being it doesn’t get there at all. We know that Vranhal has a Disaster weapon and it’s spirited, maybe it’ll get along with Lucida or something.”
P’orihc: "What should we get ready for?"
Alphonse: ”War? Lucida coming back and destroying the city? Esthen kicking out the Second and making peace with Vranhal? I don’t know, this isn’t the kind of thing Enforcement normally deals with. I’m going to contact the Overseer, you guys, uh, get ready for the worst.”
Alphonse quickly exits the office, leaving the party alone.
