Internet etiquette would have forgave this. Alas, it shall be edited out for the sake of anonymous people I do not know anything about. Enjoy me typing here on my laptop for yet another time in a blue moon and pink elephant's parade.

Learn to properly space out your thoughts if you want me to read them, it'd tl;dr because of terrible formatting, not length.

Man, XCOM:EW on Ironman mode is heart-pounding.

I have a bunch of soldiers in the med bay due to injury. 4 from my A-team and 3 from my B-team. Two from the A-team (my top sniper sniper and a medic) were about 12 hours from being released when, much to my dismay, a council mission started.

So I had to send two from the A-team, two from the B-team, and two from the this-doesn't-even-have-a-letter team. The aforementioned group was a squaddie Support and a corporal Assault. The squaddie was given medic duty, because both of my medics were out of commission.

Everything was going reasonably well until the very end of the mission.

A pod of aliens teleported into the middle of the area, so all my cover was basically rendered useless. Two sectoids and two mechtoids, all on overwatch. Now luckily, I had an assault with Lightning Reflexes, so I was able to completely disarm the overwatch and have everyone take cover... almost.

Problem is, one of the mechtoids spawned on my ♥♥♥♥ squaddie. I don't mean "near." I don't even mean "adjacent to." I mean they were literally occupying the same space. She had a face full of mechtoid taint, and I was left wondering just what the ♥♥♥♥ to do. For reasons unknown, even after I had killed the mechtoid, she was unable to move. Probably because she had just sniffed more alien crotch than anyone would care to. Unfortunately, by the time the turn ended, the other one had 1 hit point left, which he used to pump her full of plasma, putting her into critical condition.

So uh. She's in the med bay too, now. But hey, nobody died.

Are you playing Long War? It seems pretty cool, I've been watching Beaglerush's playthrough of it on Ironman, Impossible.

I have two thriving stories, but I think I might be getting complacent and by extension, sloppy.

Throw writing prompts at me :p I'll write just about anything, within reason. Now, to get back to writing part 131 G.

Mobile devices say ♥♥♥♥ you to formating. Crammed the wall of text in the thread. Sorry about that. Again mobile device, and it seems when I'm on the PC I'm mostly gaming. Meaning I'm not here on the PC, rarely. Try spacing ♥♥♥♥ with a bouncy screen of editorial demise.

I'm just playing vanilla EW on Normal mode. LW looks pretty interesting, but I feel like I don't have enough time to play it, haha.
I have such a huge backlog of other stuff to do and play that I'm not sure I'm ready for such a long campaign.

I beat EU and own EW, but I still haven't played it yet. The last mission of EU was suitably dramatic for me, the one soldier who made it all the way from the second mission (with minimal save scumming) survived, and I executed my second favorite for the sake of expediency in the last few turns of the game. Orchestras swelled, heroic tears were shed.

I missed being able to swamp levels with 20-odd troops like in classic X-com, I had a death count in the hundreds by the end of that one.

For reasons unknown, despite being critically wounded in the mission, the squaddie was only Gravely Wounded when admitted to the med bay, meaning she lost no Will.
So it's official, she's basically a superhero. Survived robo-alien-taint and nearly bleeding out without even caring.

I actually had a similar glitch on the Dam map in Enemy Within. A mob fell directly on top of one of my soldiers, and both of them were stuck sharing a tile.

I didn't know this but apparently Witcher 3 will be open world.

Witcher 1 was amazing IMO, good story line, a lot of content and a unique combat system that resembled a lot what witchers do, i.e., fighting the enemies in a proper way in which they have to be defeated without being uncomfortable or annoying (or alternatively, be op enough to just kill everything with fire, except bosses and most end game enemies of course). It also had this amazing thing of equipment being only secondary in importance when compared to the skills and how you fighted enemies, so there was basically 0 need to grind stuff and you could really just enjoy playing the game. I really liked this point because leveling up and how you spent your talents actually meant something, and I must have changed swords like, 3-4 times and armor only twice during the whole game. So it created a really nice, immersive atmosphere.

Witcher 2 was exactly the other way round. The story line was okay, not bad, but not good either. Content was really lacking, felt like the game was cut in a random, cliff-hanging point, and there were only a handful of side quests that were interesting enough. All combat was exactly the same thing; roll, roll, backstab, repeat, occasionally throw a bomb or use a sign but never use traps/bait, since they were really hard to use properly and backfired more often than not. And, there was a ridiculous overflow of equipment. Like, really ridiculous; you could spend all the time grinding to craft this amazing sword, and a few quests later you'll recieve a slightly better one as a reward.

By the looks of it, Witcher 3 seems to retake the good things from Witcher 1 from what the trailers mentioned; the game seems to be mostly centered in the witcher's skill development rather than the equipment, more fluid combat that isn't roll-roll-stab-repeat, and with open world, probably lots of content will be there, hopefuly of good quality too. It looks really promising, but after Witcher 2, I don't know if I should expect this game to be just bad, or if Witcher 2 only had middle-kid syndrome and this one will be good.

But anyway, with that price tag and the amount of time you'd have to invest in a game like that, I know I won't be playing it anytime soon.

What about you guys? Thoughts about Witcher 3 or any other upcoming title that has you all hyped up?
