Info dump has been updated with some information, still a bit behind though.

Roll 79

The world as the players know it:

"Could you teach me some simple ones then? Something's better than nothing. Is construct breakdown an automatic process for mages? Like, they have fields or spells that automatically break things down? Or do they have to try it manually? Can someone analyze a construct's sequence on the fly, like in battle? If not, I would think a simple code would work. Either you try to destroy it with no sequence, or it's probably not worth the time to figure out how they have it protected."

You try to detect the gauntlet, but it doesn’t feel any different from one of the benches.

Haiva: ”Construct breakdown can be automatic or manual, though it’s generally more manual for constructs with security measures. There are methods in which an area can be covered with a barrier that disintegrates unprotect constructs that enter. Most mages you see won’t be able to analyze a construct’s sequence on the fly, but they could possible be carrying a construct-destroying-construct, though those are rare. The few mages that you’d worry about destroying a construct, you’d probably be dead regardless if your construct is protected or not.
I guess I can teach you a basic sequence that will protect your stuff from low level area deconstructors. Any decently competent construct maker would be able to dismantle it without too much effort, though maybe not ‘on the fly.’”

Putting a security sequence into a construct requires the construct to have a memory crystal, which isn’t too different from a mana stone, other than it doesn’t need to be nearly as big. The memory crystal stores a basic magic sequence that consumes miniscule amounts of energy to disrupt a basic deconstruction sequence.

Ki’stha: "How did you come to acquire it?"

Vakaumus: ”We hunted it down after the war between the Daeli and the Third.”

P’orihc: "Are there other constructs like Lucida? And would it be possible to create another construct just as strong? Is there any chance, even remote, that somehow your enemies could get a weapon to rival Kleigg with Lucida?"

Vakaumus: “There are several constructs similar to Lucida, but only one as strong, and one stronger, the latter is unusable to our enemies and the former is not in their possession. No one can approach the power of the constructs built by Kamilla, and we are confident that our enemies would not be able to obtain something to rival Lucida.”

You ask to get to the brass tacks and approach the weapon.

Vakaumus: ”As you wish.”

The large bolts in the door are slowly pulled out by an unseen mechanism, unlocking the door that then opens silently, gliding on well-oiled hinges.

The inside of the anti-magic chamber looks like the isolation dome but with denser lines and more crystals on the walls as well as the floor and ceilings. The chamber is empty except for a metal pedestal in the center of the room, holding a brilliantly white sword with a golden hilt and guard and a bright red gemstone pommel.

Vakaumus: ”The chamber is still at one hundred percent cancelling strength. Kleigg, you can safely approach Lucida, and your negation should be immune to the effects of the anti-magic chamber. When you are ready, we will gradually lower the anti-magic levels to test your control over Lucida.”

A couple of armored men make their way over.

Vakaumus: ”These men will enter the chamber with you. Should something go wrong, the chamber will be set back to full anti-magic levels and the men will assist in getting you out if you should require help.”

You see if you can detect any of this magic stuff going on.

Inside the chamber, there’s nothing detectable, but around the chamber there’s an enormous amount, probably keeping the chamber operable.

"It is a serious inquiry. I'd prefer to know exactly what is the worst that could happen. Lucida taking control over Kleigg and murdering everyone? Kleigg not being powerful enough to wield it? By a twist of fate, Kleigg dies? Even if the fields won't be completely off, I'd rather be sure of what is going to happen now."

You exit the temple and head back to Algus’s docks, hitching a free boat ride to Esthen. You start making some chainmail armor during the trip, and get a nice chunk done by the time you’re dropped off at Esthen’s docks.

The city is surrounded by huge walls, with you passing through a gate to enter. It looks like the city is sectioned in a concentric ring-like pattern, with the outermost being small plains, villages, and farmland, the next ring numerous short buildings, and the center being larger more decorated structures. At the south-west of the city, you see a large temple of some sort, standing out as a larger structure amongst the low-leveled buildings of its sector.

Ki’stha: "I'm not sure that's the worst possible scenario. We're dealing with a sentient and potentially malicious weapon here."

Kyeltziv: "Well, let's jus' hope nothin' goes wrong then."

You enter the chamber to begin the test, with the two armoured men at your sides.

Worker: ”Anti-magic 90%.”

As the chamber’s effects lower, you see specks of light to appear around the weapon, and cast a null field on it with 4 mana, making the lights vanish.

Worker: ”Anti-magic 80%.”

You can feel the weapon fighting your negation, but it doesn’t seem to be able to break through.

Worker: ”Anti-magic 70%.
Anti-magic 60%.
Anti-magic 50%.
40%.
30%.
20%.
10%.”

Negation is still holding.

Worker: ”Anti-magic 0%.”

Nothing. Your negation field holds, and the weapon is resisting but not managing to actually get any magic out.

Vakaumus: ”Try wielding Lucida.”

You step towards the sword, carefully wrap your fingers around the hilt, and lift it off the pedestal. The brilliantly white blade is extremely polished and doesn’t even look like metal, but an opaque glass. Lucida is warm to hold, and your closer proximity to the weapon seems to provide a touch more negation due to your increased innate powers, seeming to completely stop its resistance.

Vakaumus: ”Are you feeling any fatigue from nullifying? It was severely weakened when we captured it, it is possible that it has yet to recover.”

Find a clothing shop, someplace with robes.
