You message the telepath on the wall: Who are you and why is this town so well defended? Judging by the amount of guards, in particular, mages, this seems like a unique place.???: You seem a bit out of the loop, so I’ll fill you in. Esthen, the city to the North, provides safe haven to those who follow a religion, be it Caelum, the Lupus’ spirituality, and whatever else exists. This extends to Esthen’s child villages and towns, being Algus to the North of Squash lake, and Imum. Such protections offered by Esthen have put it in bad terms with Vranhal, and we commonly deal with mercenaries hired to do the dirty work of their clients. As for who I am: A fellow guard who wishes to uphold freedom, like the rest you see posted on this wall.____________________ Conditions:Health: 40/40 Stamina: 2/2 Mana: 10/10 AP: 2/2 Telepathic AP: 1/1 Name: Ki’stha (Roast Veg) Race: Chirop ____________________ Kyeltziv: "...Uh guys, what're we doin' 'ere anyway?John: "A Red Mage attacked and wiped out a group of six other mages just north of Mead. "A group of mages from Vranhal tried to take one of my friends as a prisoner. He seems to be devoted to religion or something, since that was what he was going to be detained for. That group of mages was found killed, well, except for a white mage at least, apparently by a highly skilled mage. He used some rather complex method to become invisible, telepathically as it seems, and used fire magic to dispatch the group. Does any of this sound familiar to you?"

Re: Ad Infidium (Roll 52)
Roll 52 The world as the players know it: Name: John Freemaneth (TorrentHKU) Race: Human ____________________ You look around for a magic school or shop. The shops are easy: stalls all over the place selling “enchanted” or “blessed” items. One of the stalls run by a lupus has numerous ornate crystalline stones that contain “spiritual energy,” another lupus with paper charms that bring good fortune. One stall that might have some actual magic stuff is one that has intricately carved wooden staves, seemingly charged with energy. Stepping away from the stalls, you go for the more permanent facilities like actual shop buildings, but they don’t seem to have any magical items, just things like clothes, weapons, medicine, food, and so on. One shop owner, a chandler, provides some helpful information. ???: ”You’re looking for some real magic? You can take a ferry across the lake to Algus. Small isolated town, they say that there’s a strange mage there.”Magic schools don’t seem like a thing, it’s more like magic is taught to devout followers of a particular institution after a specified length of service. Maybe Algus is your best bet for magic. ____________________ Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 4/4 Mana: 6/6 AP: 3/3 Evasion AP: 2/2 Fortification AP: 1/1 Name: Kleigg (TheKebbit) Race: Human ____________________ You go to inspect the stalls displaying various ritualistic items for sale. Many humans with icons of a religion, suns are a common one, as well as “fallen stars” and blessed knickknacks. A stall headed by a chirop has items that seem to relate to centipedes, mountains, and centipedes inside mountains. A lupus running a stall has various ornate crystalline stones that have “spiritual energy.” Another lupus with paper charms that bring good fortune. There’s a guy selling haunted items, another with ball-jointed dolls, and another with enchanted staves, so it seems to extend beyond religious artifacts. ____________________ Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 5/5 Mana: 5/5 AP: 3/3 Captured Spells (0/2) Name: Wolf (Areku) Race: Lupus ____________________ IDLE ____________________ Conditions:Health: 60/60 Stamina: 10/10 Mana: 2/2 AP: 2/2 Name: P’orihc (Asklar) Race: Chirop ____________________ Your party seems to split up, going their various ways to explore the town. A group of mages from Vranhal tried to take one of my friends as a prisoner. He seems to be devoted to religion or something, since that was what he was going to be detained for. That group of mages was found killed, well, except for a white mage at least, apparently by a highly skilled mage. He used some rather complex method to become invisible, telepathically as it seems, and used fire magic to dispatch the group. Does any of this sound familiar to you????: It does not sound familiar, but it is worrying. Attacks like these only serve to spoil relations between Esthen and Vranhal. Becoming invisible with telepathy, I’ve heard of that technique but I’ve never heard of it being used.____________________ Conditions:Health: 40/40 Stamina: 2/2 Mana: 10/10 AP: 2/2 Telepathic AP: 1/1 Name: Ki’stha (Roast Veg) Race: Chirop ____________________ You attempt to find the most prominent musician, passing by countless string instrument players. They’re not playing music, they’re just playing the same three chords over and over! And their singing barely qualifies as such, more like talking in rhyme with a barely noticeable intonation. Is this what they call music these days? You eventually find yourself standing amongst a crowd, hypnotized by a voice. Soft and melodic, words from another language that you don’t understand but feel, pouring with emotion… The composition isn’t exactly winning any awards here, but the singing is pretty good, you’ll admit. Peering above the heads of the crowd, you can make out a pair of tan pointed ears where the singing is coming from. Looks like some foreign chirop? ____________________ Conditions:Health: 40/40 Stamina: 2/2 Mana: 10/10 AP: 2/2 Name: Kyeltziv (Amazigh) Race: Lupus ____________________ You look around, seeing what the people are preaching about. Several of them are humans preaching about how either the First or the Second sects of Caelum are the “real” ones, others about inner peace and being at one with nature. One that catches your ear is a lupus wearing clothing made of animal skins and has several beaded necklaces around his neck. The decorated skull of some large beast is worn like a helmet, and a staff holding a large crystal at the top is in hand. ???: ”... open your ears to the spirits! Listen to their crying and laughing, their madness and wisdom. They who predate the existence of the three races and...”Yada yada yada ancient spirits, great ancestors, watchers of the land, that kind of stuff. Another is a chirop in fancy robes talking about… Giant centipedes? That can’t be right. ???: ”... will judge you, sending the holy believers to the stairs leading to the stars. The sinners are crushed with powerful jaws, trapped in a cage of one-hundred limbs, and then devoured and sent down a fiery path to the underworld!”She’s actually talking about giant centipedes. ____________________ Conditions:Health: 60/60 Stamina: 8/8 Mana: 4/4 AP: 2/2 Melee AP: 2/2 ____________________________________________________________ _____Followers_____ Name: Swordsman 1 Race: Human Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 6/6 Mana: 4/4 AP: 3/3 Name: Swordsman 2 Race: Human Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 6/6 Mana: 4/4 AP: 3/3 Name: Archer Race: Human Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 6/6 Mana: 4/4 AP: 3/3

"Huh, so Esthen is trying to make peace with Vranhal, or just not get the relationship even worse? Does Vranhal even listen to what Esthen has to say? And this kind of attacks like the one I mentioned before, do they happen often?"

Re: Ad Infidium (Roll 53)
Roll 53 The world as the players know it: Name: John Freemaneth (TorrentHKU) Race: Human ____________________ ____________________ Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 4/4 Mana: 6/6 AP: 3/3 Evasion AP: 2/2 Fortification AP: 1/1 Name: Kleigg (TheKebbit) Race: Human ____________________ You carefully go over the trinket stalls, keeping an extrasensory eye on anything that may be genuinely magical. Several different Caelum trinkets, icons of a sun, seem to have a minor amount of magic in them, but you’re not sure what they do. The decorated gemstones at a lupus stall seem to contain a pinch of magic as well, along with some of the centipede decor at a chirop-run stall. ____________________ Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 5/5 Mana: 5/5 AP: 3/3 Captured Spells (0/2) Name: Wolf (Areku) Race: Lupus ____________________ You ask around if there are any major roads leading or entering the city. It turns out that the only major road is the one leading from Imum to Esthen. The Southern and Western roads leaving Imum haven’t been maintained due to tense relations between Esthen and Vranhal as well as the prowling packs of bandits. ____________________ Conditions:Health: 60/60 Stamina: 10/10 Mana: 2/2 AP: 2/2 Name: P’orihc (Asklar) Race: Chirop ____________________ Huh, so Esthen is trying to make peace with Vranhal, or just not get the relationship even worse? Does Vranhal even listen to what Esthen has to say? And this kind of attacks like the one I mentioned before, do they happen often????: Esthen is trying to prevent its relation with Vranhal from worsening, yes. On the surface, both cities respect the others’ laws and boundaries, while there are rumours about what Vranhal does underhandedly. And, of course, Esthen has a hard time keeping a clean reputation when the organizations they protect attack forces of Vranhal. I can’t tell you how often the attacks occur, I imagine the perpetrators do their best to cover up the evidence. I’d caution you to keep a sharp eye out, you’re a loose end to whoever performed the earlier attack.____________________ Conditions:Health: 40/40 Stamina: 2/2 Mana: 10/10 AP: 2/2 Telepathic AP: 1/1 Name: Ki’stha (Roast Veg) Race: Chirop ____________________ You push your way through the crowd, coin in hand to appear as you were donating, reaching the front before the song ends. The singer is a short chirop with sand-colored fur and human-styled clothes - a dark blue jacket with long sleeves and brass buttons and long tan pants. A tricorn hat is upside down in front of her with money in it, with the rest of her belongings sitting against a crate, one item a knapsack, another a sword, and the last some strange metal pipe with a wooden broom shaped thing on one end. She finishes her song shortly after, taking a bow as the crowd cheers and tosses more coins into the hat. ____________________ Conditions:Health: 40/40 Stamina: 2/2 Mana: 10/10 AP: 2/2 Name: Kyeltziv (Amazigh) Race: Lupus ____________________ You check out what the lupus is talking about. Omitting the religious mumbo jumbo, he calls himself a shaman, and says things about listening to the voices of the spirits and providing offerings, and in return they carry out prayers. Apparently he can teach people how to communicate with spirits and do spirity things, provided you join and aid the “Ruhe,” his organization or something. ____________________ Conditions:Health: 60/60 Stamina: 8/8 Mana: 4/4 AP: 2/2 Melee AP: 2/2 ____________________________________________________________ _____Followers_____ Name: Swordsman 1 Race: Human Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 6/6 Mana: 4/4 AP: 3/3 Name: Swordsman 2 Race: Human Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 6/6 Mana: 4/4 AP: 3/3 Name: Archer Race: Human Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 6/6 Mana: 4/4 AP: 3/3
