Byrnolf: ”You all seem like you don’t have any clue what’s going on, so I guess I’ll fill you in. After the War of Blades, the Third sect of Caelum and their allies initiated a war with the Daeli. The Third lost the war, but the Daeli were weak enough for the numerous that originally feared them to finish the job. The few city-states left that support the Daeli are on this continent and harbor those who survived the war. Not long ago the lord of Vranhal banished practices of religion in an attempt to suppress the numerous Caelum followers, mostly of the First and Second sects in the area, as the Third was mostly wiped out from the previous war. There was an uproar that lead to the Equilibrium war, the First and Second against the state of Vranhal, with the latter being victorious. The ban was upheld, and anyone who was suspected of connections with Caelum was imprisoned or executed. So, that’s what the earlier commotion was about.
As for this ‘E,’ it brings to mind a skilled mage and construct fabricator from the Second. Emiel is his name. He was captured during the Equilibrium War and is being imprisoned by the chirop. Vranhal wants possession of him, but the lord isn’t exactly on good terms with the chirop right now.
There’re rumors abound that Caelum spies are amongst the population, blending in and relaying information, maybe even from high political and military ranks. The lord is desperate to root them out, and everyone’s doing their best to not get accidentally caught up in the hunt.”

P’orihc: "What's your part in all of this? Judging by what happened you must be, or have been important in Vranhal?"

Byrnolf: ”I fought in a few skirmishes in the Caelum-Daeli war, and went up the ranks in the Equilibrium war. Taught a lot of mage recruits after, and ended up retiring from the military to make lamps.”

Kleigg asks Byrnolf if he knows anyone in Vranhal who can help him reach a higher level of Will and Nullification.

Byrnolf: ”Not sure about resilience, there isn’t a course for it that I know of. Avoiding damage is generally preferred to trying to withstand it. As for Negation, you’re out of luck. Regular humans, chirop, and lupus are unable to use any form of negation magic, the only ones who are born with the ability are one-in-a-million. And the last known user was the head of the Third, so good luck trying to get in contact with him.”
