Re: DOTA 2 - The thread
I like annoying supports, like Witch Doctor, Crystal Maiden and Dazzle. Then there's the prettiest princess, mister undead envoy, the Undying.

Re: DOTA 2 - The thread
I'm doing the all-hero challenge for fun, and getting to know better the heroes. So far, Shadow Demon has been the hardest one for me, taking me 4 matches to win. Last one was Alchemist, I think he's very fun to play, his ultimate is cool and farming is somewhat faster, though it's still hard to use for me.

Re: DOTA 2 - The thread
Alchemist is an interesting guy. His stat gain is god awful but his Q and W are really good, especially because they are physical damage. His E and R let him farm like crazy. Really neat because you can transition from an early pseudo-support / ganker into a carry. The thing is, again because of the stat gain, he falls off in the late game and basically depends on the insane attack speed given by his ultimate so that he can bash people into submission. He's reliant on getting items really fast. It doesn't matter that Faceless Void is much deadlier at an hour in, if he's caught by an Alchemist who has Mjolnir, Assault Cuirass and Heart while Void has Treads and maybe Maelstrom, it's not going to end well.
Personally not my favorite. If I'm going to be doing farming, I want to do it on a hero who will still kick ass really late- Luna, Gyro, Void, Medusa, or Spectre. But my favorite playstyle is aggressive/snowballing carries like Jugger, Tiny, PA, etc.

Re: DOTA 2 - The thread
Noob heroes are usually below-average heroes that people just don't know how to counter at low levels, like Riki, Drow, Sniper, Bloodseeker, pretty much anyone that will draw calls of "OMG OP gentleman NOOB." Snowballers are among the most difficult heroes to play because you need to play aggressively enough to win the mid game and not get outcarried by enemy farmers, but you're also generally not tanky enough to just #yolo your way through with brute force (except when the hero is horribly unbalanced, like pre-nerf Spirit Breaker) Trench tier will not be able to use someone like Tiny, PA or Tusk effectively, and they generally have unremarkable or below average winrates overall in comparison to the "flavor of the month" / meta-friendly heroes.

Miggles wrote: >trench players cant play PA along with viper and sniper, she is literally the easiest hero in the game 99% of trench games will contain one of those heroes As a hard carry and a situationally aggressive roamer, PA requires one of two things: last-hitting ability, or the general map awareness / positioning skills required for successful early game aggression. You will find neither in trench. Trench players will *try* to play PA because "well she's got a slow and a gap closer and evasion and WHOA BIG CRIT WOO," but they will not play it effectively. She's just another right-clicker. Trench is much better off using someone like say, Sven, who has reliable damage and disables and some measure of early farming ability with Cleave. Or like you listed, ranged right-clickers: Sniper, Drow, Viper are all popular. Asklar, 'trench' refers to very low skill levels, generally below 2,000 MMR for ranked matchmaking. E: Just to clarify I didn't mean to say that PA isn't picked by trench. She's picked and they just do awful with her, the same way they do awful when they pick Invoker or Nature's Prophet or Alchemist or Faceless Void.

Re: DOTA 2 - The thread
trench players dont do well with any hero singling out one of the easiest hard carries in the game is kind of pointless since they shouldnt be expected to EFFECTIVELY play anything at all
