Also, listening to HK narrate the latest animu/manga he's watching/reading isn't really his idea of a good time, so not as much of a reason to go to #LD.
If only I could direct and wield this power for the forces of good.

I already have a pathologically hard time trying to do homework, so stacking low mood on top of that makes it pretty much impossible. In case you didn't already know, that's a very bad thing when you're attending a study. I am feeling somewhat better since that drawing came to exist, but there's still stuff lurking in the depths. :<
Honestly speaking, it's still bull♥♥♥♥ that they continue to only acknowledge the relatively few and vocal asshats of the gaming community, and side with the group that has, in significant numbers, perpetuated the neckbeard/racist/white/evil gamer stereotype for years.

Shill has lost all meaning as a word. It used to be a racially targeted word but now it's pretty much equated to 'whoring'
... Am i the only one who hasn't seen anything about this supposed hate campaign? Granted, i don't look very hard, but i don't feel like i'm being alienated for being a gamer. Is this a murican thing, or do i just live in blissful ignorance? :v

That is very true indeed, however, i'm in the unfortunate situation of having things i love that are almost impossibly hard to support oneself with. Living off of art is supposedly brutal (and requires a tremendous level of skill and discipline, which i do not have); likewise with writing (if i were even capable of money-level writing) and game development. I'm just flat out not going to be able to earn a single penny off of gaming, because i don't care enough to go pro, and neither am i skilled enough for that. I haven't TRIED a great many things, but so far, these are the things that i can keep doing without them becoming droll and/or me burning out. I do like to teach people if i can, but to get a job within that business, i'd require a degree in something (which in and of itself also comprises a HUGE obstacle), and i don't know what that something is supposed to be. All the motivation in the world can only do me so much good if i don't know what to do with it, know what i'm saying?

The several major gaming new sites that do this are based within America, so yes. (It's ironic that Dewrito Pope, and IGN haven't been connected to any of this...)

It's starting out quite a bit slower than I thought it would though. It seems like it's going to accelerate pretty quickly however, so I just got to keep listening and reading all the ♥♥♥♥ I already know.
I remember that one! Also yeah, university is such a privilege but also a pain. Shouldn't university be place where they take off the kid gloves? Maybe it's because I'm in the wishy washy social sciences but sometimes it still feels like highschool where they're focusing on just pushing everyone through, instead of actually engaging with the subject matter.

Yeah game journo networks are scapegoating and attacking all gamers at this point pretty much. TotalBiscuit has shown himself to be a cool dude. Too bad about the cancer thing. Dewrito Pope and IGN must have a PR team.

It's quite a bit more merciless at the Science & Technology department in Aarhus University, which, funnily enough, is the department that p3l and I belong to. Starts out simple enough, but if you get overconfident, it will end up kicking your arse up and down the street like a real life Dark Souls variant. They just start at the lowest common denominator to make sure that everyone can follow, THEN they throw you into the grinder. It's up to you to make sure you're grind-proof.
That is not to say that they don't try to cram you through as quickly as possible, though, because they do. If they could realistically expect it to pay off, they'd cut a year off the educational time (and leave the curriculum as it is) before you could raise your fist in protest. At least, the politicians would do that. I'm pretty sure the university staff wouldn't want the quality of education to suffer.
