Funny thing is, I'm a progressive as well. Heck, by most definitions I'd be incredibly liberal leaning on "Socialist" at times. The thing is this "progressive" nonsense they're trying to force into gaming is more like a cult than anything. It's more about control in my opinion than actually promoting social progress. The second you bring game developers to heel and force your agenda through,the greater control you have over the medium and the ability to spread your message.

This cult-like "FOLLOW THE PARTY LINE!" nonsense is, frankly, disgusting in my opinion. Just as these stupid "LULZ! UBISOFT IS TOO LAZY TO MAKE WOMEN! IT'S SO HARD WORK!" comments that show up in virtually every AC thread are. I mean really, they're asking a company to scrap a game they've worked on for years and spend God only knows how many more dollars editing things to replace Arno with a female equivalent.

But that's beside the point. Women enjoy games as well, and quite a great deal of women enjoy games even if they aren't playing as their own gender. Yes, we should promote more female characters but this screeching "OH MY GAAAAAAWD! ANOTHER MALE!" nonsense and jumping to the defense of any female dev (as we've seen with this Zoe Quinn issue) isn't the good way to go about it. We should promote and encourage games with female leads. We should support groups like the young capitalists in getting women involved in the industry! We should show SUPPORT for games with females, not stamp and shout and talk about boycotts whenever a AAA game doesn't scrap it's male character at the cries of the SJW crowd.

That's why, as someone who has actually gone through depression before and who loves gaming, I feel Zoe Quinn is a horrible person. Her and her agenda have undermined both the cause of women in gaming and progressives as a whole. It has gotten an ideology that I normally would support and turned it into a cult demanding total obedience. A cult where the perks include being able to snidely talk down to other gamers for "not supporting equality" and where the ultimate goal seems to be total control of the industry.

When it comes to my political beliefs, I feel they should be disorganized and anarchic. Coming together to unite against a common foe and then dispersing when the danger has passed. Not tightly binding one person to the next with iron and supporting liars and bullies at all costs solely because the others demand it.

In a sense, despite not being a fan of it, I suppose 4chan holds an ideal I like. They have a vaguely similar mindset, yet not to the point of being a "hive".
