Speaking of D&D, do you know this online game called cardhunter?

It's somewhat like D&D, but all your actions are cards that come from your equipment. For example, swords give you slashing/piercing attacks that deal some damage, and the better the sword, the better the card, or some boots give you better movement cards and sometimes an armor card. Many cards have downsides, and many have dice checks.

It's very fun! But to be honest, leveling is quite slow, so you usually end up with lots of amazing equipment you can't use 'till much later in game

Haven't played it in quite a while 'cause I'm way busier lately, but still, it's good fun. Sucks there's no co-op mode, but there's a nice PvP mode.

If you like the Paradox Interactive grand strategy games, check out the Paradox forums, you can usually find groups to play with there. I've played a few online games myself, more fun when it's with CK2 and people are trying to roleplay characters.


I've always wanted to actually try D&D in real life, either as DM or as a player, but I've never actually seen any groups near me, so that renders it pretty impossible unless I started my own...

Also, just remembered my brother has Space Hulk, but he got that in the 80s/90s, not even sure where it is now but he knows he still has it. Might give it a spin, one day.

Someone could set up a server for Desperate Gods (pre-TT-sim... TT-Sim for a Monopoly-Diablo hybrid by Wolfire), or Tabletop Simulator, and we could have a field day.

Me and some friends tried to play Desperate Gods several times, but after like 30 minutes of playing we just threw the pieces around because the game got boring.
The thing with board games is that the fun comes out of actually being around people and playing a game on a table; you can't really replicate that online.

Just enable voip, and chat, and then presto, you wanker.
