You can legitimize them.
As was the case with Aegon IV, who legitimized his bastard son Daemon, handing the Valyrian Steel sword Blackfyre to him rather than his heir. Which incited the uh, Blackfyre Rebellion.
ASOIAF history stronk tho.
Exactly this. He is a bastard, true, but he's a legitimized bastard. His half-siblings hold the High Lordships, but he's the Lord Paramount. The main reason he ended up inheriting was my first born son, Corris, died at fifty nine - and Corris' son died a few years later in an outbreak of the Pale Mare. Sigurd died in the same outbreak and if you remember I made Sylarik take the Black after the succession crisis earlier on. So that meant Aenys was my heir, but his son was a humpbacked cripple and unworthy of having the Lord Paramountship in the future.
So I changed the government and voted for the one person young enough and skilled enough to be a worthy heir.
Baqqo. It's a long story where he came from :p
And by the Seven did he win that election! I immediately changed the succession laws back to Primogeniture, which pleased quite a few people since it sorted out the line of succession again, since people weren't exactly happy with Caerik's choice to completely bypass normal succession. And I never plan on doing it again, since I'm pretty sure I could fracture my realm very fast.
I had to find Blackfyre as a replacement Valyrian steel sword since Sylarik took the original one to the Wall
Seriously, what he did was the saddest thing to happen to me in a game in a long time.

Sounds cool. What game is this we're now talking of? A Song of Ice and Fire: Da Game? Or is it something completely different which you just put names in for.
Crusader Kings 2 with the Game of Thrones mod, absolutely epic.
Gonna get a new avatar myself in a bit, Miggles.
