Tbh it's been a long time since I've had Heineken but it's about the most tasteless I've had, I avoid it at all costs (which is why I haven't had it in a long time). I only really know Dutch and some Belgian beers, but if you ever do have to choose, get Hertog Jan, Palm or Brand, even though the latter is owned by Heineken. Grolsch would be like the Dutch equivalent of how you described Budweiser, though I prefer that to Grolsch. It's too bad there German beers aren't more common here. I mostly know Bitburger and Haake-Beck, both of which are relatively cheap but good imo. Don't like Veltins either.

Either way, that was an informative post, I'll have to keep some of those in mind!

To back up Adriaan here: Grolsch is the beer I buy when going to a party. Palm and Jupiler are Belgian IIRC and good. Watch out for double alcohol Palm, somebody forgot to tell me once and I didn't notice it(we weren't drinking from the bottle.) you can get drunk pretty quick off that. Guinness is pretty good too, but I applaud you if you can drink more than one pint.

I personally really like Bacardi Oakheart, couldn't care less about regular Bacardi. Also Malibu.

I have to say that Vodka-Martini is really good.
Vodka is a pretty hit/miss thing to be honest. I've had really expensive stuff taste mediocre at best, and 8 euro bottles be ♥♥♥♥ fantastic.
