Carnage (A SandBox Activity)
Wooh, my first real mod release!
Carnage is a sandbox activity, inspired by Weegee's Weapon Test and Luringen's Firing Range scenes, but with a more sandbox feel to it, rather than just a testing scene. It's got a bunch of options, items and settings with which you can do anything you want.
some previews (warning big gif):
The Controls:Space: randomises the team of all units
B: go into edit mode
K: kill all units
numpad 0: save all the units of the red team, press it again to load them.
numpad 1: save all the units of the green team, press it again to load them.
numpad 2: save all the units of the blue team, press it again to load them.
numpad 3: save all the units of the yellow team, press it again to load them.
del: reset all settings and reload scripts
The Menu:One of Weegee's excellent menu's controls a bunch of options. Press up/down to change selected option, press left/right to change the option.
The Items:All of the items are found under Carnage Items in the buy menu.
Controller: The controller for the menu. You need one of these to control the options.
Red/green/blue/yellow paint bombs(not pictured in the screen): drop these on units to change their team to red/green/blue/yellow.
Red/green/blue/yellow brains: buy these if you want extra brains as targets.
Red/green/blue/yellow cloning tubes: Cloning tubes controlled by the menu.
Red/green/blue/yellow beacons: buy these to set waypoints for specific teams, don't forget to set the AI mode to GoTo!
Red/green/blue/yellow dropzones: buy these to control where friendly/enemy reinforcements get dropped.
Red/green/blue/yellow tech select: Drop these ontop of units to set the tech of the red/green/blue/yellow team. Drop these somewhere away from units to set the tech to random.
The Map:The activity can be played on any map, and there's also 1 map(the one in the previews) included, you can find it just a bit to the left and down of the Fredeleigh Plains. if you're not playing the included map, the first thing you should do is buy and place a controller (found under Carnage Items in the building menu), to get access to the options menu.
Credits:Very big thank you too:
DataRealms: For Cortex Command, and all the base code and sprites that went into making this.
Weegee: For his letter sprites, function library, without which the menu wouldn't exist, and his GetInventory function and his RTS mod, which provided most of the code for the mouse controls.
Luringen: For his Firing Range scene, which I used for reference and inspiration.
Mehman: For his ToKey function
Bad Boy: For answering my lua questions, especially in the matter of tables, without which this mod wouldn't exist.
Arcalane, p3lb0x, Abdul Alhazred, Foa and CaveCricket48: For answering various lua questions of mine.
