Terrain regeneration, lazily get a contour of the general area, and the materials. Over time check for holes [again by lazy sampling], or differences, and then overwrite them, lazily.
More or less throw the concept of full recoveries out the window, and make assumptions as to what color things are. If it looks like someone used brush with a mosaic filter applied to it, it's the cost of regeneration, hopefully it isn't made of weak materials.

You have one passive material scan routine running, and when it finds something wrong, it stops the scan, and repairs part of it. It's lazy, it works on the first thing it finds, and starts from somewhere else after repairing either a small portion of the damage, or a small amount at a time. [More or less, skip full scans, and full repairs.]
The problem I guess would be if you have too many running too many at the same time, or if you allocate too large an area to one repairer. And how fast you want it to scan or repair :/

Update. Added the Smart Pistol, which was the basis of the B30 Techion Micro Pulsar. Tweaked a few things here and there, making sure things are a little more B30 compatible.

It's as possible as it was before, meaning it's possible but still be a pain in the ass to do, due to the way CC's MO-to-MO physics work.

Maybe, sometime, I don't know. Anyways, update 8. Added Manhacks and the Variable Explosive Grenade Launcher Mk2. And yes, you can shoot manhacks out of the VEGL Mk2.

Update 9. Added the Variable Explosive Bolt Launcher, which essentially turns every bomb into a sticky bomb. Also added the Micro Turret, which is compatible with all VE launchers, as well as fixed a bug with the deployable dummy turret.
