Lizardfolk in (city) ruins
I'd actually prefer the goblins or the mechanical, but nobody votes the cool races...

See, that's why I shouldn't write stuff at night since I get confused :p Foa wrote: ♥♥♥♥ it, even though I want to, I won't switch my vote. Because ♥♥♥♥ city ruins, let's do slimey islands.
Not sure what you are trying to say in that post. But we've got three posts for slime and three posts for islands. That means the voting is finished.

Izen wrote: No, we also have three for lizardfolk and three for city ruins First to three. Slimes and Islands were the first to three votes, so we're going for slimes and islands. I'm waiting for Keb to come online so we can discuss the start.

Re: CIVILIZATION: RISING
On further inspection Miggles' edit vote actually came before the final vote that would have otherwise confirmed an Island setting.
Going by that, our setting and race will be the City Ruins and Slimes.
Standby for caek and myself working out some preliminary setting/species details, then throwing up Roll One.
There will most likely be maps done via Hexographer.

Yes, hardmode slimes. Would prefer the other hard modes, though.

God dammit we could've had limitless slimes. Water and fish everywhere, easy pickins.

Unnamed Tribe: Nameless City
Quote: Your species are shambling, humanoid masses of hydrocarbons and protein sludge bound in a thin, polychromatic membrane. Other sentients do not understand the way you think, the gods you worship or the simple lives you lead, and the way you bud children and tend to your toxic crops fills them with inexplicable horror.
It is hard for you to live anywhere. Only the strongest of your people may hold themselves together underwater and step across sand without particulate contamination.
But here you are.
You, the head of the tribe, are: >Gelatinous star spawn, set apart from the rest of the tribe, fallen in the dead of night and guided by something cold that whispers from the moon. >A black-membraned hermit, sun-corrupted tissues liquefying from age, gifted by solitude with the secret ways of water. >Not one, but many - a powerful swarm-spirit present whenever individuals give of their nervous tissue in the rituals that bind tribe and mate together.
It has been a long time since your people made it to this city. You are informed it used to be beautiful, once. Your relatives did not want to talk about what happened here.
You find yourself in a small ceremonial square, a void in miles of rubble. There is little to be seen in the shattered storefronts, but the streets on all sides are choked with abandoned caravans. Everything is silent but for a few insects.
You may: >Explore. This will take you to new frontiers, expand your knowledge and uncover resources. >Settle. This will give you a head start in the game of civilization and begin laying infrastructure. >Study. This will give you the primitive technology you need to survive. >Worship. This will create or choose the power that will guide your people. >Other. There is always the option for strategic intervention. Quote: Tribe: Twelve slime creatures and twenty pups in various stages of maturation. Technology: Nothing but your hands. Food: A broken barrel of fermented fruit mash, dragged to the square by foraging slimes. This will not last long. Resources: Charred brick and shards of ceramic line the streets. Magic: You know nothing - though the Hermit may hold a secret or two. Religion: You do not worship - but the Hivemind knows the ways of God.

Re: CIVILIZATION: RISING
I vote for star spawn and to explore.
That way we can find any useful materials before settling and if necessary, relocate.
Slight rule change : If I vote now, I'd be influencing the outcome of my update next turn, but if Keb votes now it's correct since he'd be voting for my post. Just saying that now to fix any confusion.

Re: CIVILIZATION: RISING
Note: caek and I will only vote after we roll. Secondary note: d20 with no overshots, in true RTD style.
Take on the cause of the Hermit and >Explore.
