Re: Roll to Dodge - Tiny Gods
HAHA ROLLS
caekdaemon - Daemon [8] "James Gondolas, a gifted head of police. Time to show the people that even if he is gifted, he can still die like the rest." Yes, he will do. He will do nicely. The first part of the hunt, the prowl. Learn his patterns, find out his home and work, find his weaknesses and vulnerabilities. You COULD just break into his office in the middle of the day, if you felt like dying. No, no that's both crass and stupid. But where to start the stalk. Scope out the workplace, find his office, maybe snoop for something informative there or perhaps just wait for Gondolas there. Or could follow him home, strike where he's at his least ready. Maybe he has a family too. That would certainly be an experience, having his wife and possibly children see him die. Not sure how you feel about that. You DO have standards, twisted as they are. Two radically different options.
-Character Sheet- Gift Name: Shadow Jack
Inventory: - Apartment Full of Tools - Kukris - Flashbang Rig - 9mm Glock - Garrote Wire - Notepad and Pencil - The Art of War - Binoculars Skills/Traits: - No Rest for the Wicked (+4 to hunting a target) - Most Wanted (Easily recognized as a wanted criminal) Status:
Age: 27 Description: A fairly bulky man, approximately 6'3ft tall, weight unknown. He has dark blonde hair and dark eyes with a series of tattoos across his body, most notably a large python on the side of his neck stretching down across the back of his body. He's fast on his feet, security footage shows him fleeing the scenes of his...handiwork with good speed. Background:Dossier Linked.
TheKebbit - Dr. Gregory Martel [9] You head out. To hell with this place. With these people. With this life. You leave the building, not even bothering to punch out, and get to your car. You drive out of the parking lot, growing more exhilarated with each passing second. You just sent a giant middle finger to your job and your life. There's no going back, but then again, there's a lot of going forward. So... Where to go? What to do?
-Character Sheet- Gift Name: Unman Integrate
Inventory: - Pack of Cigarettes - LBL Chem ID Skills/Traits: - Power of Science (Vast chemical knowledge, can analyze underlying structure of things) - Little Man (His presence commands little respect, and will often be pushed around for it) Status:
Age: 46 Description: Martel is an unimposing, doughy figure of 5'11", frequently dressed in faded and burned safety overalls over the business casual attire demanded by his corporate employers. His dull green eyes squint, barely focused through smudged glasses. A sad, too-short necktie resplendent in the psychedelic colors of the 60s attempts to liven his appearance and fails, contrasting strangely with the respirator that hangs around his neck during work hours. The attention that his thinning hair no longer requires goes into his mustache, which is neatly trimmed although always slightly lopsided due to poor perspective vision. Background: A nervous chemical engineer more used to managing plastics synthetic cascades and working around rate-determinants than dealing with people, Dr. Martel's meteoric fall from scientific grace went unnoticed by all but himself. After pioneering work in solvents in the heady, brilliant days of a youth at a prestigious technical school, he rapidly fell into middle management of a synthesis plant and found himself unable to do anything but grind out wages to house himself and his elderly dog, Martel's only companion following the death of his parents. Fond of stamp and mineral collecting, extremely conscientious of his work and idiosyncratically tidy at home. Phlegmatic to a fault, pleasant to acquaintances and strangers, but prone to ignoring his surroundings and giving vague, blustering speeches.
Foa - Morrissa "Eonislara" Leona [6] You exit class, having finished for the day, and start walking home before work. I wonder who I'll run into this time? Today seemed a bit colder than usual, better wear an extra layer. Mm. ... Hmm. It IS cold. You can see your breath. It wasn't this cold this morning. Or in the forecast. ... Nah, it couldn't be. Your imagination's getting the better of you. It's probably just weird weather. Certainly not an ice Gifted or something.
-Character Sheet- Gift Name: Black Rabbit
Inventory: Skills/Traits: - Athletic (+3 to physical exertion) - Lady Unluck (Life tends to be hard on her, but sometimes gives a lucky break.) Status:
Age: 23 Description: Most noticable about her is her fiery mane of hair (of a wavy orange) and distinctly dull grey eyes-- both of which she passes off as heredity. She is partial to beige and light blues in her outfits, and has a large, iridescent and ashen tattoo that rounds her right shoulder. She is physically fit, with a lanky and muscular form that measures to about 5'3", often wearing clothing that exaggerates her slight pear-shaped body. Background: Prodigal track and field, gets molested, moves away, no scholarships, lives in obscurity and fear and poverty, recently got into college, lives in an isolated flat.
Offendo - Saladin Ashur [7] ... A drug dealer? Where the hell did you get THAT idea? You... you COULD, but that would be a bad idea even in your prime. Then again... The greatest regret is always a life unfulfilled. And you could stay away from anything too bad... Of course, assuming you DO want to actually go through with hard drugs, you have no idea where to find them. You doubt your old friends would either. You don't usually end up chasing the dragon at 90 years of age, or end up 90 years old if you tend to use.
-Character Sheet- Gift Name: Hive Talker
Inventory: Skills/Traits: - Relic (Frail, has a few long-standing friends around in powerful places) - Silver Tongue (+3 to conversation) Status:
Age: 92 Description: Saladin, or as he is known around, Sal, is an old, somewhat frail man, but is working to reverse the effects of pollution on his body. Sal is an ex-businessman, and people generally respected him as one. He was well liked around his neighborhood and surrounding city. Being indoors for extensive time has not dampened his status; he is still quite aware of the outside world. About 6 feet in his young age, his weak bones in his age force him to have a slight hunch. He has a difficult time moving quickly, though he can walk with little effort using a cane. His senses are up to par, despite his rough past. Background: All of his life he has lived as a humble businessman, owning a small restaurant inherited from his old man in what could be considered the "nicer part of town." In his young age, he was an active socialite and an ambitious worker which allowed his political and social influence to grow. However, his weakness and frailty from the excess pollution and poisoning in the later life forced him to retire at age 60, nearly breaking his entire spirit. He is still alive, hoping to reclaim his business as soon as he is fit once more. His time now consists of staying indoors, safe from the toxicity of the outside air, and slowly working his body back to his former self.

Cold blue sky, and ashen, stormy jungles. Seems like a nice time to run, otherwise, but for now: home, clothes, work, and a brisk jaunt the way back~

Timescale is what it needs to be. I'll timeskip as necessary if nothing fun happens in the course of your action. And since fun things happening are the basis of any RTD, who knows?

Try to find who the best smugglers are in town. See if they have successfully smuggled people out of the city.

Oops. College got the best of me. Alright, time to do my real job. Start calling up some more contacts. See if there are any potential jobs out there that can take advantage of a fire based Gift that'll satisfy Ikki.

Re: Roll to Dodge - Tiny Gods
HAHA WOW.
CaveCricket48 - Tabitha "Tabi" Merriam [2] You eat. It's good food, but you'll probably have to stay away from here for the good of that server. He would probably have a heart attack if you ever showed up again. It's natural for Gifted to fight, it's just a strange property they all share. Whenever they see another, their blood starts to boil and they think of combat. Of course, being a respectable woman and not a fight-crazy street urchin, you easily overcome this base impulse. Finishing your meal, you get up, leave a rather generous tip, then pay and leave. It's when you're halfway through the parking lot that you feel a strong breeze suddenly blow through the lot, shaking the trees nearby. You stop, a small knot forming in the pit of your stomach, and you look back. Yes, it's the server, standing in front of the restaurant, a fearful and manic look on his face. This won't end well.
-Character Sheet- Gift Name: Playwright
Inventory: - Fancy White Ensemble - Handbag -- Smartphone -- Wallet --- $300 --- ID -- Pepper Spray Skills/Traits: - Upper Crust (+3 to dealing with upper class people and services, can use family resources.) - Labor is Beneath Me (-2 to physical exertion) Status:
Age: 19 Description: 5 feet 8 inches, dirty blonde hair, blue eyes. A frail looking girl, usually wears dressy clothes, but not dresses. Background: The child of a family known for their company of literary reference books, Tabi's education was provided by either prestigious private schools or expensive tutors. She comes off as cold, calculative, and arrogant, and has a difficult time being friendly even when she tries. Her primary interest is theatrical performances, and spends the bulk of her free time in the box seats of the few expensive theaters in the city.
maart3n - Tim van der Valk [6] "Godverdomme! Again?! Oy! Constable! Call the police, my car's been stolen!" "...The one in the lot?" "VLAMMENDE DOMHEID, THE ONE I DROVE HERE IN!" "Oh." He doesn't seem to be caring much, but he does start talking into his radio, so you assume he's making himself useful. Meanwhile, you make yourself much more useful, and run after your car. It's still stopped, but the light will change any moment, and- "Need a ride?" Oh goddess of luck, you shine upon me today. A taxi cab pulls up next to you, the driver inquiring into your frantic running. "Yes, good! I will pay your double time, chase that red car!" You practically dive into the back seat, right as the traffic light goes green and your baby takes off. The taxi goes in pursuit, and the chase is on. Stores whizz by as you make your way through the ghetto and into a nicer part of town, going from fast food, convenience stores, and the occasional check-cashing business to fashion stores with mannequins displaying wares, office buildings with boring fronts, and a few nice cafes with outdoor seating areas.
-Character Sheet- Gift Name: Pose Breaker
Inventory: - Keyring -- 2002 Ford Mustang -- 2010 Chevy Camaro -- Dodge Ram Skills/Traits: - Speed Demon (+2 to driving, owns several cars of different types) - Noble Air (Stands out from most people, very recognizable) Status:
Age: 23 Description: A Dutch immigrant of noble descent. A tall, at 6'3", young man with brown hair and deep blue eyes. Wears a suit jacket over his t-shirt and jeans, to somehow differentiate himself from people who are off "lesser origins". Background: Obviously being of low nobility he also hails from a relatively wealthy home, expensive cars, suits, jewellery. You name it, they probably had it. Tim never really bothered with any of that. Except the cars, oh how he loved the freedom they gave him riding out into the dark of night breaking every speed limit imposed around the outskirts of town. Being an only child his parents expect him to follow in their footsteps and take control of his father's design corporation, something Tim is more than willing to do.
Benpasko - Blade Runner [4] You head downtown, towards the Norstar HQ building. It sprang up pretty quickly, shockingly so to be honest. It was up within a few months, a time almost unheard of for such a large building. Right on the front of it, above the entrance, is the Norstar logo big and tall, telling the world exactly who owns this towering monolith of corporate power and private military strength. And you're gonna break in. Hmm... From outside, you can see a security guard at the front desk, and no other obvious entrances. The building has a wicked overhang for the 2nd floor that makes it very difficult to scale. You'd say Norstar built a fortress, not an office building, but you're not THAT parano- Wait, no, you are. You are that paranoid. This thing could probably tank a plane crash. Looks like everyone who gets in just needs an ID badge to scan. A few people head up to the guard and show him some papers, and he hands a card back, which they then use to scan. Man, being Gifted really improved your eyesight.
-Character Sheet- Gift Name: Kinetic Pylon
Inventory: - Empty Soup Cup - Newspaper of Spying (Today's Issue) - Warm Homeless Clothes Skills/Traits: - Conspiracy Theorist (+2 to gathering information, large gathered net of information about Nortsar Security) - That Conspiracy Guy (Known as a crazy conspiracy theorist among other homeless) Status:
Age: 20 Description: 6'2, pale man with a brown goatee and buzzcut hair. Wears jeans, a hoodie, and a skull-pattern bandana tied back, hood up. Background: Homeless conspiracy theorist who moves around the city to further his investigations into Norstar Security's obvious involvement in the origin of the gifts.
Tomaster - Simmons Johnson [7] No time to worry about shifty gangbangers right now. You've got a job to find. Let's see... Al's probably the guy to call here, he's relatively up and up. The phone rings 3 and a half times before getting picked up.
"Hey Alphonse, long time no see! ...Simmons. I pulled your ass out of a goddamn burning meth house and literally beat the flames off you and this is how you- You shithead. Heh, good. Yeah, you know me too well you damn egghead. Running with some punks, got a fire Gifted with us. Yeah, he's a treat. Looking for some work that fits his talents, preferably not just arson either. I said I wanted a job, not a- shut up, you know what I meant. Dunno. Far as I know he just makes flame. Eugh, that's messy business, no thanks. I wanna keep these guys on the straight and narrow if I can. That- Well, yeah, that could... that could work. I can keep him in line. Yeah. Yeah dude. Thanks. Yeah yeah, pineapple, you weirdo." You hang up. Strange dude, but very well connected and smart as hell. Not much you can do with a fire Gifted that isn't "burn a house down", but fire makes for good intimidation. Go send a frightening warning to some people, get paid, keep your hands clean. All in all, not bad. As long as that gorilla of a Gifted doesn't get bored with the job. "Ey yo! Two Step! We got WORDS to have." Speak of the devil...
-Character Sheet- Gift Name: Two Step Road
Inventory: - Concealed Glock 17 Skills/Traits: - Ups and Downs (+2 in situations that go bad) - Mixed Blood (You've known many people in your days. Some of them like you and can help. Some hate you and want you dead.) Status:
Age: 43 Description: A middle aged man with silver/black hair, 6'2" and pushing 190lbs. Used to have an athletic build, now it's just muscle turned soft by age and laziness. Dark grey eyes and a permanent 5 o'clock shadow. Unremarkable and average. Background: Born into extreme poverty, Simmons always wanted to be the "American Success" story. Being told for years that if he just pulled himself up by his bootstraps and put his time in, he'd be wealthy, caused him to dedicate the first ten years past age 14 to working different part and full time jobs in various factories and businesses so he could get enough money to start his own business. However, at the age of 26, a series of injuries, accidents, and financial missteps drained the entirety of his savings and left him penniless. Impatient, and with his illusions of hard work paying off shattered, Simmons turned to crime. He soon learned that he was a natural at remaining unseen and unheard by those not expecting him due to his unremarkable appearance. This propensity to remain unseen proved valuable after he was sent on what was thought to be a suicide mission to eliminate a rival head of one of the cities many crime syndicates. After that, he proved indispensable as a mid-level enforcer, hitman, and scout. Knowing that the head of such a violent organization was often the one "displaced" during internal coups, Simmons never aspired to rise too high, and instead stayed as a mid-sized and knowledgeable cog in a large and deadly machine, despite multiple "reorganizing efforts" during his lifetime. Until now, anyway.
