Us, or the community and its reaction to us? Or if both, how is the blame distributed?

If that analogy doesn't hold, think of set theory, any added, edited, or removed elements in a set makes it entirely different. (Change of Content, and Meaning) Also, I don't like Lemon Orzo. As far as Contrary's issue, it's not an easily solved one. How does one revert a community? Especially to one that is more palatable/favourable to Contrary? Anyways, it's probs a personal problem.

The community was being a bit hostile to new members at the time, so I made a point of keeping people civil with Mackerel despite the fact that he was clearly used to Zerozaku's culture rather than the one on this site. The result is that you guys both stayed (and brought your girlfriends) so we have a bit of a different mix of people than we did before. So yeah, things are different than they were before you got here — I'd say for the better, as far as keeping the site friendly to new members goes, but still different.

Re: The Lounge
Like TLB said, when you two joined the community changed. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, in fact a big part of it was just letting go of a unearned sense of entitlement people (such as myself) had.
It's like Coke and New Coke. In blind taste tests, New Coke was reported to be much better tasting than the old recipe. I just liked the old Coke better is all.

Re: The Lounge
No more teen angst for you. At least until something big, that just happens to rub most people in the wrong way, happens. And then everything pops back into place. Since that's been going on for the better part of a decade.
Remember Thor? Remember how people were ok with it after a couple of weeks?
But I digress. I guess things were bound to change and the addition of new quirky people, whom not everyone liked, and the mods went out of their way to defend, stirred things up just in the right way.

Re: The Lounge
I think the problem is that I intentionally wanted to bother people, and they intentionally wanted to get mad about what I had to say.

Fortunately most of it as been subdued. As it stands I am pretty much ok with everything that's going on. Except for the game. The way that's being handled is just as asshat as before, but then again CC as peaked many years ago and all that's left is whatever spoils may come around.
